Primary Job responsibilities are:
  • Responsible for coordination of efforts to modernize industrial control systems and hardware.  Work with process experts to create automation specifications and develop implementation resources to meet program/process requirements.  
  • Specify, document, design, test, and maintain data acquisition and control systems using PLC-based technology.
  • Create, read logic and flow diagrams for program design, programming, simulation and testing.
  • Develop Human Machine Interfaces (HMIs) for control and acquisition systems.
  • Selection and sizing of instrumentation (pressure, temperature, strain, flow, etc.) based on P&IDs
  • Update, develop Instrument & Controls documents such as; IO list, instrument list, wiring schematic, loop diagrams, Electrical Instrument & Controls specification.
  • Coordinating (Project Engineering, Tooling, Quality, Facility & Production personnel) the design & documentation of safe & affordable manufacturing processes.
  • Establish monitoring for Key Process Parameters using Statistical Process Control
  • Identify opportunities for improvement of existing processes, conducting trials & verifications for improvements through a robust change process, and implementing verified changes.
  • Non-Conformance investigation to determine Root cause & Corrective Action for Process related non-conformances.
  • Defining requirements for new/repaired facilities equipment used in the production or products
  • Assist in developing the scope of work and related estimates for proposal activity
  • The successful candidate will supervise all Engineers assigned to design projects and, in addition, participate in designing and testing particle accelerator diagnostic and control systems in a team environment collaborating with physicists, engineers, computer scientists, technicians, and accelerator operators.

This requisition may be filled at either a Principal Electrical Engineer (3) or a Sr. Principal Electrical Engineer (4) Basic Requirements Principal Electrical Engineer (3)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and 5 years of experience or a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering and 3 years of experience or a PhD or other related engineering discipline
  • Experience with designing and programming process automation and industrial controls
  • Experience with communications, data networks and data collection
  • Good organizational skills and ability to work with minimal direction in a changing environment.
  • High energy, results oriented, self-motivated / self-reliant, team player
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Ability to acquire a Security Clearance which requires US Citizenship as a pre-requisite
Basic Requirements Sr. Principal Electrical Engineer (4)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and 9 years of experience or a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering and 7 years of experience or a PhD and 4 years of experience or other related engineering discipline
  • Experience with designing and programming process automation and industrial controls
  • Experience with communications, data networks and data collection
  • Good organizational skills and ability to work with minimal direction in a changing environment.
  • High energy, results oriented, self-motivated / self-reliant, team player
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Ability to acquire a Security Clearance which requires US Citizenship as a pre-requisite
Preferred Requirements:
  • Experience implementing controls solutions using Rockwell Allen-Bradley and GE PLCs and programing HMIs
  • Experience with Modbus OPC, IEEE 802.3, and HART communication protocols
  • Experience with digital/analog control and measurement.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to interface with an organization at all levels
  • Skilled in working with Microsoft Office, RSLogix 500/5000 and/or Proficy suite of applications.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, fast paced environment
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Initiative, self-starter, adaptable, and high motivation for excellence.
