Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Staff Electrical Engineer to join the Flight Systems Team. This position is located in Roy, UT and supports the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program.  This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

What You’ll Get To Do:

The selected candidate will lead the Air Vehicle (AVE) Electrical Design Integration team.   Specific duties to include, but are not limited to the following:

• Consolidate all lower level EDI teams wiring diagrams and ensure proper standards and specs are followed

• Responsible for the overall AVE system wiring diagram including all internal and external interfaces of the AVE

• Responsible for the generation of Wiring Harness routing and Assembly drawings that meet aerospace standard processes. This includes but not limited to ability to read and understand vendor hardware specifications and processes associated with Wiring Harness and Assembly construction. Coordination with wiring assembly routers to determine lengths and available space for components as required. 

• Design, Analysis, Procurement Support and Fabrication/Assembly Support for Wire Harness and RF Cables inclusive of Wire Shielding and grounding methodology, EMI/RFI, circuit redundancy and separation techniques

• Responsible for harness and electrical component spec writing/maturation to supply/manage vendors

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Basic Qualifications: 

• A Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) discipline and 14 years of experience; 12 years with Master’s Degree; 9 years with PhD

• Possess strong background in Air Vehicle System Design and Integration in addition to architecture development

• Possess key skills necessary to read Electrical Schematics, create Cable Block Diagrams, Wiring Diagrams and translate info/data into Cable and Wire Harness Diagrams

• Proficient in CAD programs

• Active DoD Secret security clearance

Preferred Qualifications:  

• Familiar with the Aerospace standards and or NG standards on electrical cable and harness design processes are a plus Experience with “clean-sheet” new design.

• Excellent communication, organization and interpersonal skills with leadership quality

• Has previous work experiences in clean sheet Air Vehicle design/products

• Experienced in Siemens NX CAD system

• Basic understanding of Electrical Power System load analysis

• Master’s Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited institution


Salary Range: 122200 - 183200

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
