Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Principal or Sr. Principal Project Management. This position will be located in Roy, UT and will support the GBSD program.  This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

What you'll get to do:

Project Management position, supporting and overseeing the EMD and Production aspects of SLP-A. Supports the LGC/SLP-A sub-IPT lead and Cost Account Managers in program execution utilizing Earned Value Management, waterfall, and agile methodologies.

Oversees and manages the EMD and Production aspects of ongoing projects and serves as liaison between Program Management, Operations and Planning, project teams, Cost Account Managers, line management, USG and others as needed. Reviews status of projects and budgets; manages schedules and prepares status reports. Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and customer-satisfaction goals and objectives. Develops mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving.

Provides financial control and maintenance of budgets including EVMS indices and Variance Explanations as a member of the Control Account Manager team.  Will be proficient and knowledgeable in managing labor and material dollars across multiple cost accounts, supporting EVMS weekly and monthly deliverables. Prepares and manages schedules and prepares status reports on the health of the projects. Identifies risks and opportunities and coordinates with project teams to mitigate and retire risks. Develops and maintains change proposals to include reviewing & updating Supplier Statements of Work (SSOW), preparing Basis of Estimates (BOEs), performing quality checks on all proposal submittals, and attending proposal related reviews. Evaluates issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and customer satisfaction goals and objectives. Prepares heading check executive level briefings for management and develops mechanisms for monitoring project progress and tools for intervention and problem solving with Cost Account Managers, line managers, and customers. Supports all major SLP-A events and milestones.  Must possess the ability to handle multiple tasks in a dynamic environment, work autonomously under general direction and demonstrate critical thinking and problem solving skills.

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.  

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

  • Principal: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Engineering related disciplines with 6 years of relatable work experience or a Master’s degree Business Administration or Engineering related disciplines with 4 years of relatable work experience. 
  • Sr. Principal: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Engineering related disciplines with 10 years of relatable work experience or a Master’s degree Business Administration or Engineering related disciplines with 8 years of relatable work experience. 
  • Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Project management experience is required. 
  • Experience leading daily operations and managing organizational processes and communication flow.
  • DoD Secret clearance is required on day one.

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

  • Previous experience leading a team in successful completion of projects.
  • Previous experience with US Navy depot process and of E-6B operational mission. 
  • Experience in SAP and Business Warehouse.
  • Intermediate to expert in Microsoft Office Suite - Project, PowerPoint, Excel and Word. Experience using EVM and agile methodologies and tools.
  • Experience in technical data development is a plus.
  • DoD Top Secret clearance or previously held.

Salary Range: 72200 - 134300

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
