Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Staff Financial Analyst (Level 5) to join us in the pursuit of top-tier financial performance. The position is based in Roy, UT and will report to the Strategic Deterrent Division Controller’s organization. 

The successful applicant will have some of the following responsibilities:

  • Management of Division financials, including: financial and cost forecasting, reporting and analysis, profitability analysis, and working capital analysis (accounts receivable forecasting, treasury forecasting, unbilled analysis, and aged receivables analysis)

  • Support Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance and documentation

  • Work with the program finance and business management teams to develop strategies to improve financial performance based on metrics

  • Support the development of presentations and brief Division leadership

  • Interface with business, program, and sector personnel

  • Weekly and monthly monitoring of overhead, preparation/processing of commitments for overhead

  • Non-Contractual Technical Activity (NCTA) weekly and monthly monitoring, working closely with Project Managers on understanding project performance and forecasts

  • Set up of overhead accounting for cost centers and cost elements, approval of iBuy carts and other expenses as required

  • Compiles and reviews budgets using actual performance, previous budget figures, and other data sources to control funds and provide for proper financial administration

  • Prepares financial plans, maintains historical records, analyzes trends, establishes cost rates and personnel forecasts, prepares comparative evaluation of actual costs against budgeted funds, and determines rationale for variances between costs and budget

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with 15 years of Finance, Accounting, and/or Business-related experience, or a Master's degree with 13 years of Finance, Accounting, and/or Business-related experience

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)

  • Ability to obtain and maintain DoD Secret Clearance. US Citizenship is a prerequisite.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Public Accounting experience (each year of “Big 4” or relevant Public Accounting experience counts for 2 years of experience above)

  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business-related discipline

  • Experience with SAP, Cognos, database software

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite

  • Expertise in financial analysis

  • Active DoD Secret Clearance

  • CPA License

  • Knowledge of EVMS/FAR/DFARS

Salary Range: $111,400 USD - $167,000 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
