The Communications function at Northrop Grumman’s newest campus and division is looking for an employee communication professional who loves storytelling to engage, inform and influence internal audiences via content-driven, multi-channel communications tactics.  This position is located in Roy, UT.

More about the job:

  • You’ll report to the Employee Communications Manager and join a team tasked with generating storytelling content to promote employee engagement, events, business achievements, editorial planning and content generation.
  • You’ll work with a cross-functional team to execute strategic campaigns that inform, inspire, and engage demographically and geographically diverse audiences, some of whom are difficult to reach.
  • You’ll write, draft, edit and help facilitate the design of internal materials, newsletters, employee feature stories and other engaging content.
  • You’ll assist in the planning and execution of internal events.
  • You’ll provide detailed reports highlighting internal metrics.
  • You’ll work alongside colleagues from corporate communications to identify and promote great stories via multiple traditional and digital mediums.
  • You’re a little bit (or a lot bit) of a nerd, and you love all things related to space exploration, national security space technologies and science.
  • You love brainstorming, working alongside a creative team and thinking outside of the box…
  • …but you’re just as good at using traditional communications tactics to accomplish the goals your internal customers.

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Basic Qualifications:

This requisition may be filled at either a level 3 or a level 4.

Basic Qualifications for a Level 3: 

  • Bachelor's degree from accredited university with six (6) years of experience successfully developing and deploying communications practices or 4 (fours) years of communications experience with Master-level degree from accredited university.

Basic Qualifications for a Level 4: 

  • Bachelor's degree from accredited university with ten (10) years of experience successfully developing and deploying communications practices or 8 (eight) years of communications experience with Master-level degree from accredited university.

Additional Basic qualifications for both levels:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, SharePoint, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Possess a high level of integrity when handling sensitive and confidential information.
  • US Citizenship.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with successful email campaigns and newsletter creation.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize competing demands in a fast-paced environment.
  • Affinity for developing solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity.
  • Strong business presence with a history of cultivating trusting relationships with multiple teams and leaders.
  • Experience leveraging data to create and execute communications strategies, plans, programs and events.
  • Understanding of AP writing style.
  • Aerospace and Defense experience.

Salary Range: $72,400 USD - $108,600 USD
Salary Range 2: $89,800 USD - $134,600 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
