Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking an Electronics Engineer. This position will be located in Roy, UT and will support the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

As an Electronics Engineer on this team, you will support a team of engineers to define, develop, decompose, analyze, verify, and validate requirements for weapon system. In this role, you will be supporting program leadership and the customer to define and maintain the technical baseline. Ultimately, you will support the program through maturity and milestones to achieve the mission by ensuring teams are aware of the compliance requirements they will need to meet. 

Candidates should be highly motivated engineers who can work both independently and in team environments.

What you’ll get to do: 

Your primary focus would be on modeling of electrical circuits to support evaluation of Worst Case Circuit Analysis (WCCA) while the circuits are exposed to radiation environments (prompt dose rate, total ionizing dose, neutron displacement damage, neutron induced upset, and single event effects).  Other tasks this position would also become involved with are:

  • Executes the testing and/or evaluation/validation of an electrical component, subsystem, or system analytical model or actual system implementation during Radiation Effects testing.
  • This requires the candidate to establish a thorough knowledge of the operation of the circuit and its use in the system application, using that insight to assure testing is conducted in a manner consistent with its use in flight.
  • Develops Test Procedures and Performs Functional Testing on electronic hardware for radiation testing.
  • Prepares and presents electrical engineering materials for requirements and design reviews.
  • Participates in requirements derivation, allocation, and development.
  • Evaluate uncertainty and risks associated with requirements and designs.

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80A. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

You’ll bring these qualifications:

  • A minimum of 2 years of engineering experience with a Bachelors in Science in Electrical Engineering; or 0 years with a Master's in Electrical Engineering
  • Experience with circuit modeling and/or system level design or test required
  • Use of SPICE for circuit simulation.
  • Active DoD Secret security clearance with an investigation date within the last 6 years or ability to obtain
  • This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain special program access within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet business needs

These qualifications would be nice to have:

  • Worst Case Circuit Analysis experience
  • Active DoD Top Secret clearance and able to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP)
  • Familiarity with MIL-STD-1766
  • Weapon system experience (Minuteman III or similar military or industry experience)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Salary Range: $71,100 USD - $106,700 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
