The GBSD Program is looking for a Sr. Principal Project Engineer to join a diverse program team of highly motivated professionals located in Roy, UT

and will support the GBSD Ground Base Strategic Deterrent program. Learn more about the GBSD program here.

What You’ll Get To Do: 

This individual will support Major Program Event Leads for the GBSD Program.  The selected candidate will perform analysis and lead projects in service of:

  • Monitors schedule control points and support adjudication of pressures between IPTs.

  • Monitors and supports IMP execution. 

  • Drives horizontal integration of schedule logic and IMS integrity for their MPE.

  • Partners with IPT Leads and CAMs to ensure schedule execution to plan.

  • Monitors GFx dependencies with the government and G/R dependencies across IPTs within their MPE.

  • Continuously assesses executability of the plan, and identifying/characterizing risk across the prime and subcontractor scope. 

  • Monitors risks and opportunities within their MPE.

  • Supports SRA activities to quantitatively characterize schedule execution risk.

  • Champions opportunity identification and proactively look for opportunities to gain schedule margin.

  • Monitors accuracy of schedule forecasts.

  • Participates in and supporting baseline change board activities relative to their respective MPE Supporting/brokering cross-IPT MPE integration.

  • Supports/attends major supplier activities for critical MPE drivers.

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80A. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

You'll bring these qualifications:

  • Bachelor in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) related degree and 9 years related experience; OR master’s degree and 7 years of related experience. 

  • 2+ years’ experience in Program Planning or engineering working on program planning activities for complex programs.

  • Experience assimilating information from multiple sources, creating coherent plans and experience executing those plans.

  • Project management and earned-value management (EVM) experience and experience applying EVM application to complex projects.

  • The willingness and ability to travel domestically 10% of the time.

  • Current, active DoD Secret level security clearance is required.

These qualifications are nice to have:

  • Experience in a government contractor manufacturing or engineering development environment. 

  • Experience leading program teams through baseline planning activities.

  • Experience managing givers/receivers across subcontractors, IPTs, and customers.

  • Experience with IMS structure design and integration process across a complex program with multiple subcontractors and IPTs. 

  • Experience with Monte Carlo schedule risk assessments and analysis.

  • Experience managing givers/receivers across subcontractors, IPTs, and customers.

  • Experience with baseline planning activities.

  • Experience applying integrated program planning and management methodologies within an Earned Value (EVMS) environment on a complex program with multiple IPTs and subcontractors.

  • Experience with Oracle Primavera P6 software. 

  • Experience in Aerospace and/or Defense programs and familiarity with Integrated Program Management Report (IPMR) or Integrated Program Management Data and Analysis Report (IPMDAR).

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.

  • Strong critical thinking and logical reasoning skills with the ability to solve issues and predict potential programmatic and technical risks.

  • Operate independently with limited supervision, and the ability to establish a solid working relationship with technical staff, peers, and customers.

Salary Range: $98,700 USD - $148,100 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
