Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Ground Test Engineering & Analysis Manager 2 to join its team of diverse engineering professionals supporting Launch System Safety (LSS). This position will be located in Roy, Utah with some travel to Promontory, Utah and Vandenberg AFB, California and will support the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program. Candidate will be a manager for planning and execution of ground test operations at the Strategic Missile Test and Production Complex as part of the System Test team running LSS. Learn more about the GBSD program here.  Northrop Grumman supports the Air Force’s sustainment, development, production and deployment of hardware and system modifications for Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Ground and Airborne Launch Control Systems, Launch Facilities and associated infrastructure.

What you will get to do:

  • Develop, perform, and document tests, includes test planning, test conduction, data analysis and documenting test results as part of the Ground Test Team
  • Participate in technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for systems
  • Review and evaluate test requirements to ensure completeness and compliance of the test program
  • Verify specifications and designs through testing, test data processing, and support modeling and simulation and performance analysis
  • Support all phases of the systems lifecycle including concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal
  • Maintain design documentation and follow configuration management requirements
  • Create technical reports and present test and analysis results
  • Coordinate integrated testing activities working in a dynamic people-focused environment
  • Interface with internal and external customers

Manager duties to include:

  • Demonstrate sound metrics management and the ability to effectively communicate complex technical issues and solutions.  A successful track record of program performance, interpersonal team building skills, and cross-functional management experience is highly desired.

This position requires 25% travel to Vandenberg AFB and Promontory, UT.

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree in a STEM field with 8 years of relevant experience; 6 years with a Master’s
  • At least 1 year of experience leading a project and/or driving performance against schedule
  • US Citizenship with an Active Secret Clearance or higher awarded within the past 5 years with the ability to obtain a Top Secret.
  • 1 year of demonstrated experience in test planning and test execution

Preferred Qualifications:

  • US Citizenship with an Active Top Secret Clearance (awarded within the past 5 years)
  • Experience with testing in accordance with SMC-S-016
  • Prior experience with EMI/EMC or RF testing
  • Prior Experience or knowledge of ICBM test methodologies
  • Demonstrated ability working with cross-functional teams and customers
  • Demonstrated knowledge and use of instrumentation and data acquisition type systems
  • CAM and EVMS training
  • Project Management, risk and opportunities, and scheduling background
  • Travel for this position is expected up to 10% of the time.

Salary Range: $112,700 USD - $169,100 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
