Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Principal System Architect Engineer to join the System Test Team. This position is located in Roy, UT and supports the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program. Learn more about the GBSD program here.

What You’ll Get To Do:

The selected candidate will join a team researching, planning, designing, and developing the mechanical sub-systems for test data instrumentation systems. This will include development of engineering layouts and drawings.

Specific roles and duties include:

• System and component level analyses of complex systems

• Component engineering and testing

• Component and instrumentation system manufacturing and testing

• Research, analysis, system design and development of systems, hardware procurement, and technical oversight with suppliers

• Applying research to the design, development, and testing of mechanical and/or electromechanical systems, instruments, controls, engines, and/or machines.

• Supporting testing and flight operations as well as authoring procedures and other engineering instructions for test or operating engineers or customer use.

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) discipline and 5 years of experience; 3 years with Master’s Degree; 0 years with PhD

• Relevant course work and/or experience in instrumentation systems.

• Experience with industry standard mechanical analysis software, design standards and/or documentation related to instrumentation system or subsystem design.

• Experience with MATLAB or similar engineering tools.

• Active DoD Secret clearance, granted or re-investigated within last 6 years

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

• Direct experience with designing instrumentation systems including review of relevant analysis, manufacturing drawings, authoring test procedures or hands on pressure or hot fire, engine test support.

• Masters’ Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering

• Experience leading spacecraft instrumentation testing

• Experience leading hardware procurement/supply chain operations

• Possesses strong leadership qualities, as well as strong verbal and written communication skills

Salary Range: $87,600 USD - $131,400 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
