Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer. This position will be located in Roy, UT and will support the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

What you’ll get to do: 

This position requires a highly motivated self-starter with preferred knowledge in the fabrication, assembly, manufacturing systems integration, and testing of aerospace/aircraft/missile hardware. Has knowledge of a wide variety of manufacturing processes, equipment installation, processing, machining, factory layouts for assemblies, checkout and material handling. The candidate will need to demonstrate competent organizational and interpersonal skills, have the ability to multi-task and communicate effectively (written and verbal) with varying levels of Customer, NGC, and Suppliers

• Provides guidance to manufacturing team and proposal lead regarding design concepts, specification requirements, tool concepts and support systems to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.

• Develops a program wide Manufacturing Plan, complete with assessments of Manufacturing Readiness and areas of risk involved in the execution of transition to production and production start for the Sentinel missile system.

• Provides technical guidance to the program Integrated Product Teams (IPT) and Suppliers for developing the proposal.

• Provides feedback and input to resolve technical questions from various sources including customer feedback and Requests for Information (RFI).

• Gathers and reviews cost estimate data from various sources for materials, parts, tools and labor.

• Presents proposal content to review Boards and interfacing successfully with participants.

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80A. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

You’ll bring these qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree, with a minimum of 5 years with Bachelors in Science; 3 Years with Masters; 0 Years with PhD. of experience in an aerospace or military aviation Manufacturing Engineering role.

• Experience with formulating and executing technical solutions to part, assembly and tooling challenges.

• Experience with reviewing Manufacturing cost estimates for validity and applicability

• Must have an Active DoD Secret Clearance that has been granted / renewed within the past 6 years

These qualifications would be nice to have:

• Experience participating in Manufacturing Readiness Assessment’s and establishing Manufacturing Readiness Levels per DoD MRA Handbook customer requirements.

• Experience using SAP, Windows software packages and other electronic databases.

• Experience working in a Model Based Manufacturing digital environment to include design, fabrication and assembly activities.

• Previous experience on high rate production military program.

• Experience with Inter Continental Ballistic Missiles (ICBM).

• Bachelors of Science in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) degree.

• Experience with Siemens NX tools and Manufacturing Execution System (MES).

Salary Range: $79,700 USD - $119,500 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
