Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Principal LC Design Integration Engineer. This position will be located in Roy, UT or Huntsville, AL and will support the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package. This requisition may be filled at a higher grade based on qualifications listed below.

What you’ll get to do:

The Design Integration Engineer provides engineering support to the Design Integration Lead. This role focuses on technical integration of complex integrated systems into a fully integrated launch center.

Essential Functions:

  • Complete understanding and wide application of Change integration and management principle, theories, and concepts in the field. General knowledge of other related disciplines.
  • Displays Technical and program review board leadership.  Provides technical solutions to a wide range of complex difficult problems. Solutions are imaginative, thorough, practicable, and consistent with organization objectives.
  • Works under only general direction. Independently determines and develops approach to solutions. Work is reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives. Supports Design Integration Lead and chief engineers in defect analysis and path forwards
  • Frequent inter-organizational and outside customer contacts. Represents the organization in providing solutions to difficult technical issues associated with specific projects.
  • Provide technical solutions to a wide range of complex difficult problems. Solutions are imaginative, thorough, practicable, and consistent with organization objectives.
  • Manage element level requirements in DOORs
  • Lead critical trade studies to determine best architecture and design solutions

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80A. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

You’ll bring these qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in STEM
  • A minimum 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; 3 years with a Master’s; 0 years with a PhD
  • Active Secret/ Top Secret Security Clearance with investigation/adjudicated within the last 6 years
  • U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain Special Program Access (SAP)
  • Formal training or basic knowledge and experience in Program/Program Management including Baseline Management, Program Change, Change Integration, Risk and Opportunity Management, and Risk Management Analysis.
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and MS Project

These qualifications would be nice to have:

  • Special Program Access
  • Knowledge of basic systems engineering principles
  • Very strong understanding of SE process, including SE experience across multiple levels of integration
  • 2 plus years of SE experience
  • Top Secret clearance
  • Strong Missile experience
  • Operates independently with little to no supervision, and the ability to establish a solid working relationship with technical staff, peers, and customers
  • Strong background in managing and developing engineering requirements
  • Proficient in DOORS

Salary Range: $87,600 USD - $131,400 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
