Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Sentinel (GBSD) Design Verification Engineer / Principal Design Verification Engineer, with working knowledge and expertise in Product Lifecycle Management (PLM). This position will be located in Roy, UT and will support the Strategic Deterrent Systems Division, which includes programs: Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD), Ground Systems Sustainment Contract (GSSC), and related business developments. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

What you'll get to do:

Support subject matter experts (SMEs) responsible for planning, organizing and developing engineering processes specific to our portfolio of products

  • Assists in identifying the best Design Engineering tools to solve our SDS programs’ challenges

  • Integrates with the Common Product Lifecyle Management (CPLM) ecosystem’s cross-functional development and deployment teams

  • Ensures developmental requirements are accomplished through rigorous validation and verification activities with SDS program team counterparts

  • Provides cross-functional processes integration, covering entire program & product lifecycles

  • Works with Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), functional teams, and other stakeholder organizations to ensure process intent, best practices, and lessons learned are captured

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.  

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

This requisition may be filled at either at a Design Verification Engineer level or level Sr. Principal level.

  • Design Verification Engineer Level: 2 Years with Bachelors in Science; 0 Years with Masters.

  • Principal Design Verification Engineer Level: 5 Years with Bachelors in Science; 3 Years with Masters; 0 Years with PhD.

  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.

  • Must have U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain a DoD Secret Security Clearance.

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

  • Experience on large programs in a DoD environment, performing complex systems development

  • Prior Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) experience, and a working knowledge using Siemens engineering tools: Teamcenter, NX, Capital, Xpedition, and/or Simcenter

  • Working knowledge of ERP, MES, and/or Logistics tools

  • Experience in a breadth of related technical and business disciplines

  • Excellent technical writing and verbal/interpersonal skills, working closely with both internal staff and external customers/partners

  • Active Secret DoD Security Clearance with a periodic reinvestigation within last five years"

  • U.S. Citizenship and an active Secret DoD Security Clearance with a periodic reinvestigation closed within last five years.

  • Working knowledge of Siemens engineering tools: NX, Capital, Xpedition, and Simcenter.


Salary Range: $64,600 USD - $97,000 USD
Salary Range 2: $79,700 USD - $119,500 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
