Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Senior Principal Project Engineer. This position will be located in Roy, Utah and will support the Strategic Deterrent Systems Division - SDS.  This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

What You’ll Get To Do: 

Northrop Grumman Space Systems (SP) Strategic Deterrent Systems (SDS) Division is seeking a technical Project Engineer to lead our Design Engineering tool operations. This position will support our current programs (Sentinel, Minuteman III Sustainment, Advanced Programs, Nuclear Command-Control-Communications), and other related business units. Specific duties to include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Oversee day-to-day planning and technical operations for Division Engineering design tools, and develop/maintain an established rhythm of support.
  • Coordinate with the Common Product Lifecyle Management (CPLM) ecosystem’s cross-functional development and deployment teams, to ensure success to all elements, namely: requirements gathering and definition, developing and refining associated processes, facilitating working groups and managing corresponding actions register, and versioning release metrics.
  • Help teams coordinate technical integration operations, develop standardization across engineering tools, manage licensing needs across division tools, and provide informal training on Design Engineering tools.
  • Lead initiatives pertinent to operational efficiency execution, assist leadership and work closely with the Division Engineering Operations team to develop/refine processes, improve efficiencies, and identify gaps in capabilities and develop related workarounds.
  • Assist in identifying the best Design Engineering tools to solve our SDS programs’ challenges.
  • The successful individual must be a self-starter with aptitude for balancing multiple tasks simultaneously, function in time-sensitive situations, and interface with various levels of personnel across multiple functions.

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.  

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

  • 9 years of relevant professional experience with a Bachelor’s Degree; 7 years with Masters; 4 years with PhD
  • Must have U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain Secret level clearance
  • Ability to travel 10% of the time
  • 2 years of project management experience

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

  • Working knowledge of Engineering, ERP, MES, and Logistics tools
  • Prior Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) experience
  • Certification in either/both: Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified Scrum Master (CSM)
  • Experience in a breadth of related technical and business disciplines
  • Excellent technical writing skills, and verbal/interpersonal skills, working closely with both internal staff and external customers/partners
  • Active Secret DoD Security Clearance with a periodic reinvestigation within last five years

Salary Range: $98,700 USD - $155,900 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
