Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Training Systems Database Engineer. This position will be located in Roy, UT and will support the Sentinel Training Devices team. Learn more about the Sentinel program here.

What You'll Get To Do:
•    In an Agile environment, plan, analyze, design, implement, test and integrate, and maintain a distributed multi-user Microsoft Access Database where the backend is located on a Microsoft SQL Server and connections using ODBC.
•    Plan and execute system testing at each stage of the development phase and identifying bugs in the system which could result in negative user experience/data inconsistencies.
•    Develop documentation for the users of the database.
•    Coordinate with the Database Administration (DBA) team for backup functions.
•    Manage the Active Directory Group for back-end access.
•    Establish and maintain a simple ticketing system to support users with problems and to identify bugs.

Training Services Responsibilities 
•    Perform analysis on a large-scale project to identify customer cybersecurity training needs and work within a team environment to produce a holistic training system.
•    Develop training objectives for identified tasks.
•    Select appropriate method and media for developed objectives.
•    Conduct analysis of pre-existing training media to identify ability for reuse for applicable training needs.
•    Develop advanced curriculum for computer-based training (CBT) to support identified training requirements.
•    Communicate with non-technical personnel to derive system requirements.

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

  • 3 Years of related experience with Bachelors in STEM, and 1 Year with a Masters in STEM; 4 Years of relevant experience in lieu of higher education

  • Ability to meet DoD 8570 IAT II Security+ or similar certification requirements within first six months of employment.

  • Must have U.S. Citizenship with a current or active Secret level clearance, and with the ability to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret Clearance and Special Access Programs

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

  • 3 Years of Software Development Experience using VBA

  • Familiar with Object Oriented Programing

  • Instructional System Design experience

  • ICBM or related domain experience

  • Curriculum Development experience 

  • Developing and documenting technical processes and procedures

  • Experience with Workflow from requirement to solution implementation

  • DoD 8570 IAT II Security+ or similar certification 

  • Experience in conducting Formative and Summative training evaluations

  • Experience using Articulate or Captivate for Curriculum Development

  • Basic understanding of Agile processes


Salary Range: $71,100 USD - $106,700 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
