Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Staff Structural Engineer to join the Command and Launch Team. This position is located in Roy, UT and supports the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program.

What You’ll Get To Do:

The selected candidate will be responsible for leading the Launch Equipment shock isolation system analysis team while executing linear and nonlinear analysis scope using ABAQUS. Responsibilities will include defining required analysis tasking and schedule to sufficiently analyze the system against subsystem requirements. This includes define test objectives to support analysis verification. Additionally, responsibilities will include review and sign off on the shock isolation analysis and drawings. Candidate will report to the subsystem lead to report technical and schedule status on a weekly basis. Candidate should have a strong background in shock analysis like seismic analysis and the use of Dassault Systemes ABAQUS.

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) discipline and minimum 14 years of experience; 12 years with Master’s Degree; 9 years with PhD

  • Experience with Dassault Systemes ABAQUS analysis tool.

  • Experience performing non-linear shock analysis and seismic analysis

  • Must have US Citizenship and an Active DoD Secret Clearance or higher granted or re-investigated within last 6 years

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
  • Experience with programming languages such as MATLAB

  • Experience with FEMAP

  • Ability to navigate through NX 3D models and CPLM

  • TeamCenter CPLM experience

Salary Range: $134,700 USD - $202,100 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
