Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Quality Analyst/Principal Quality Analyst. This position will be located in Roy, UT and will support the ICBM Sustainment program.  This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

What You’ll Get To Do

Develop and implement program quality plans, programs, and procedures using statistical quality control statistics, lean manufacturing concepts, and six-sigma tools and analyses. Ensures that performance and quality products conform to established company and regulatory standards. Reviews, analyzes and reports on quality discrepancies related to assembly, process, mechanical, electrical and electro-mechanical systems. Investigates problems and develops disposition and corrective actions for recurring discrepancies. Interfaces with manufacturing, engineering, customer, vendor and subcontractor representatives to ensure requirements are met. Recommends corrective actions, dispositions and modifications.

Reviews, analyzes weld processes and reports on quality discrepancies related to assembly, process. Investigates problems and develops disposition and corrective actions for recurring discrepancies. Interfaces with manufacturing, engineering, customer, vendor and subcontractor representatives to ensure requirements are met. Recommends corrective actions, dispositions and modifications. Mentors less experienced welders.  Develops and executes the welding, weld certification, and weld inspection programs.

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. 

Basic Qualifications, Quality Analyst:

Minimum of 3 years of experience with a Bachelor’s degree. 4 additional years of experience may be used in lieu of a degree.

Certified Weld Inspector credential

Certified Dimensional Inspector (CDI) credential or equivalent with proficiency in the following areas:

  • GD&T understanding and how to apply to product drawings
  • Knowledge of ISO 1101:2017 and ASME Y14.5 requirements
  • Able to set up and program CMM’s and Smartscopes and other advanced inspection equipment
  • Proficient with all mechanical inspection tools required to perform routine product inspections
  • First Article Inspection in accordance with AS9102B

U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain a Secret Security Clearance

Proficiency with Microsoft office (Word/Excel/PowerPoint)

Problem solving skills

Create reports and communicate with stake holders

Coach and teach lesser skilled team members

Create reports and communicate with stake holders

Preferred Qualifications:
"Mechanical, harness and electrical assembly inspection experience
- Knowledge and experience in the use of SAP MRP system Quality Module including deficiency reporting
- Aerospace and Defense experience
- Six Sigma Greenbelt
- CMM working experience
- Active Secret Clearance"


Salary Range: $58,800 USD - $88,200 USD
Salary Range 2: $72,400 USD - $108,600 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
