Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Principal Operations and Planning Project Management / Sr. Principal Operations and Planning Project Management. This position will be located in Roy, UT and will support the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package. This requisition may be filled at a higher grade based on qualifications listed below.

What you’ll get to do: 

  • Provides Agile execution support to the Support Systems Team (SST) Lead for Operations & Planning on across sub-IPTs.

  • Supports design, updates, and maintenance of dashboards tracking technical and program performance through schedule and cost metrics.

  • Builds communications and visualization of metrics to support complete understanding of the SST IMS and Control Accounts (CAs).

  • Provides data analytics inputs to SST artifacts, products, and services that facilitate program execution as part of Knowledge Management for the SST.

  • Leads facilitation of Agile Program Increment Planning on a quarterly cadence with tracking and status on progress.

  • Ensures successful Program Increment (PI) Planning in a Scrum Master role for PI Events.

  • Supports creation and implementation of tools for Sub-IPT standardized approaches for data metrics visualization (i.e: Weekly performance capture; Risk Management at Sub-IPT as input to the Risk & Opportunity process; Agile and Jira training and acumen).

  • Supports Sub-IPT collaboration through SST Ops & Planning and to / from the SST Program Integration Team (PIT).

  • Conducts technical process and progress facilitation in support of the SST Chief Engineer.

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80A. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

You’ll bring these qualifications:

This requisition may be filled at either a Principal level or level Sr. Principal level.

  • Principal Operations and Planning Project Management: Bachelor's degree in business management or related technical field with 6 years of related experience, or 4 years of experience with a Master’s.

  • Sr. Principal Operations and Planning Project Management: Bachelor's degree in business management or related technical field with 10 years of related experience, or 8 years of experience with a Master’s.

  • Professional project management with specific experience in Federal and/or Defense contracting. 

  • Active Secret clearance.

These qualifications would be nice to have:

  • Experience and/or familiarity with the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent program.

  • Active Top Secret Clearance.

  • Understanding of data analytic tools and methodologies to support the process of defining, structuring, retaining and sharing the knowledge and experience of employees within an organization; including creating, sharing, structuring, and auditing knowledge to optimize organizational effectiveness and collective knowledge.

  • Have or be able to obtain Agile or Scrum skills or certification.

  • Have or be able to obtain CAM training and certification.


Salary Range: $72,400 USD - $108,600 USD
Salary Range 2: $89,800 USD - $134,600 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
