Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking an Affordability and Proposal Manager 2. This position will be located in Roy, Utah and will support the Sentinel (GBSD) program. Learn more about the Sentinel program here.  Northrop Grumman supports the Air Force’s sustainment, development, production and deployment of hardware and system modifications for Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Ground and Airborne Launch Control Systems, Launch Facilities and associated infrastructure.

What you will get to do:

  • Partner with program leadership and other Program staff focused on driving affordability initiatives including time certainty, risk reduction, and affordability for current EMD and follow-on production contracts.
  • Coordinate integrated aspects of proposal development, award fee management and affordability management, and participates in Program TRB/CCB, PCAB, FRB, Risk & Opportunity Board, Affordability, Production, and Schedule review meetings.
  • Provide strategic direction and oversight to all GBSD affordability initiatives, to ensure current and future objectives are met.
  • Coordinate with Program IPTs/Project areas and functional Operations personnel to develop and execute proposal responses.
  • Drive and execute the program affordability plan and champion efforts with project personnel to identify and implement schedule risk mitigation plans and affordability initiatives to reduce product costs and improve overall AIM cost, schedule, and technical performance.

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Science and 6 years of related program management experience.
  • Active Secret clearance adjudicated within the last 5 years with the ability to obtain SAP.
  • At least 1 year experience leading a project and/or driving performance against schedule

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s Degree in STEM discipline or MBA from an accredited university.
  • Experience developing proposals
  • Experience in program execution and demonstrated ability to meet program technical, cost, and schedule milestones
  • Demonstrated ability to create trusted relationships with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex teams comprised of engineering, business, contracts, supply chain, production and mission/quality assurance disciplines
  • Proven ability to lead a high performing team with evidence of being able to create an inclusive work environment that attracts, retains and inspires diverse and engaged teams
  • Proven ability to deliver effective communication verbally, written, and through well-crafted presentations across all levels of an organization
  • Proven IPT and/or Project Management experience achieving mission commitments across multiple phases of program lifecycle.
  • Experience optimizing space hardware production flow to meet schedule incentives and affordability objectives.
  • Experience with customer relationship management.
  • Leadership experience in effective change management.
  • Conflict management and negotiation skills.
  • Experience with risk, issue, and opportunity management.
  • Demonstrated ability to make tough decisions.

Salary Range: $123,900 USD - $185,900 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
