Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Program Manager 3 – Production IPT Lead for IDT. This position will be located in Roy, UT and will support the Sentinel (GBSD) program.  Learn more about the Sentinel program here.  Northrop Grumman supports the Air Force’s sustainment, development, production and deployment of hardware and system modifications for Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Ground and Airborne Launch Control Systems, Launch Facilities and associated infrastructure.

What you will get to do:

  • Lead and direct a team in Engineering & Manufacturing Development (EMD) environment for Infrastructure and Deployment (IDT) IPT Teams (Integrated Product Team). Requires understanding of the construction industry and weapon system integration with real property.
  • Lead a multi-disciplined team consisting of Manufacturing Engineers, Industrial Engineers and Operation Project Managers.
  • Provide leadership, draw upon technical expertise in Manufacturing Engineering disciplines (Engineering to Manufacturing design for excellence integration, producibility, tooling concepts development; etc.) across the IPT
  • Develop, hire and retain effective staff members including coaching and mentoring
  • Manage SOW within Program (IPT) and Budget.
  • Develop and co-ordinate accurate and executable resource plans, Integrated Master Schedules, work plans and associated Visibility Metrics
  • Experience working with Digital Environment integrating Engineering Systems to the MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems)
  • Outline specific objectives and processes that are focused on generating innovative solutions to moderately complex business problems
  • Lead optimization activity, studies on affordability and efficiency, and EVMS Goals
  • Maintain open communications with all Enterprise functions including Production, Engineering, Quality, GSC, Logistics, and Integrated Product Teams (IPT's)
  • Development and execution of long-range plans and strategies while providing the most effective resources by skillsets to the program
  • Awareness of Manufacturing Engineering and Industrial Engineering best practices and on operating models, proposals and new business pursuits
  • Collaborate the technical solutions across the IPT, functions and program leadership
  • Manage SOW within sector and/or program IPT including EV management

These positions will have a standard work schedule of 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university and 8 years of experience supporting US Government contracts and customer and /or project management in other industries. An additional 4 years of experience in lieu of a degree is acceptable.
  • 3 years of formal management experience to include performance reviews for direct reports.
  • Must possess an active DoD Secret clearance adjudicated within the last 5 years.
  • Must be able to attain and maintain Special Program Access (SAP) within a reasonable amount of time as determined by business needs.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to obtain a DoD Top Secret clearance
  • Experience leading manufacturing/production teams in an Engineering & Manufacturing Development program
  • A proven track record of developing and implementing strategies for change
  • Presentation skills to communicate effectively at all levels of management and to individual contributors
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Prior experience operating in a dynamic environment of increasing production schedules and high delivery rates
  • Aerospace / ICBM Industry Experience
  • Knowledge and experience with Production Estimating functions
  • Experience working with Systems Applications and Products (SAP)
  • Knowledge of Manufacturing Management Plan requirements and transitioning to production
  • Knowledge and experience working on MILCON construction efforts

Salary Range: $147,700 USD - $221,500 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
