Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking Manager of Project Manager 1 (S01). This position will be located in Roy, UT and will support the Sentinel (GBSD) program. Learn more about the Sentinel program here. Northrop Grumman supports the Air Force’s sustainment, development, production and deployment of hardware and system modifications for Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Ground and Airborne Launch Control Systems, Launch Facilities and associated infrastructure.

What you will get to do

As the Manger of Project Management for Lab Design Operations Team (LDOT), you will lead a team of Project Managers supporting the Sentinel program. You will be responsible for providing task-oriented direction to your team utilizing management guidelines & general project management policies.  The Project Management team is responsible for monitoring cost, scope, schedule, and risks in conjunction with the leadership and Business Management teams. Your team will be responsible to ensuring validity in the IMS working directly with leadership, ensuring costs are managed for both program and capital expenditures, and identifying/tracking all opportunities and risks through mitigation.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Managing and reporting Project Management status from the Project Management Team for LDOT
  • Supporting cross team, cross IPT, cross functional working groups to ensure efficiency and project management principles are followed
  • This job will also give you the opportunity to grow the people on your team. 

Additional responsibilities will include:

  • Staffing your team
  • Building a culture that empowers and motivates individual performance, and establishes functional shared accountability with the program areas
  • Setting employee performance goals and provide performance feedback.
  • Supporting the annual salary review process
  • Mentoring and developing the next generation of technical and project leadership
  • Occasional support of proposal activities

These positions will have a standard work schedule of 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Project Management, Business Management or STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) disciplines from accredited institution with minimum 5 years of experience in project management or related field.
  • 1 year of experience leading a project and/or driving performance against schedule in a project management or similar role.
  • Active DoD Secret Clearance investigated within the last 6 years with ability to obtain SAP.
  • Ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to collaborate with other functional teams
  • Solid leadership capabilities including project execution and completion
  • Experience in technical writing and review of documents
  • Demonstrated ability to work with Primavera P6 and identifying schedule logic/date discrepancies
  • Experience with Earned Value Management (EVM) principles and monitoring project execution from EVM metrics
  • Demonstrated ability to lead large and diverse teams, drive a culture of performance and inclusion, foster development and enable collaboration across engineering and operational disciplines
  • Proficient in MS Office Products – PowerPoint, Word, Visio, Excel
  • Experience with Agile

Salary Range: $85,400 USD - $128,000 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
