Northrop Grumman Space Systems - Support Systems Team (SST) is seeking a qualified individuals to be a Product Trainer to support weapon system-based training. This position will be permanently located in Roy, Utah and will support the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program. Northrop Grumman supports the Air Force’s sustainment, development, production and deployment of hardware and system modifications for Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Ground and Airborne Launch Control Systems, Launch Facilities and associated infrastructure. What You'll Get To Do:

The Product Trainer will support the Training Services Lead in providing design, development, and delivery of training courseware and related services. The selected candidate will support the creation and maintenance of formal curricula and other related training services.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Support the development of criteria for evaluating effectiveness of training activities.

  • Continuously revises lesson plans to meet new training requirements and maintain updated technical information.

  • Develop task lists, objectives, syllabi and training products according to DoD, USAF and ACC operating instructions and Instructional System Design (ISD).

  • Provide input to meet new training requirements and to keep technical information up to date.

  • Create instructional materials and products for technology-based courses - including online, mobile, immersive and performance support.

  • Demonstrate and use effective needs analysis, project management, course development, and evaluation skills

  • Instruction materials – self-paced guides, case studies, job aids, evaluations; scenario-based storyboards; mobile learning concepts (smart phones, tablets).

  • Training materials – instructor guides, student manuals, workbooks, related materials; curricula to support program implementation across target audiences.

  • Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to identify specific training needs and develop solutions for satisfying unique skills based training requirements.

  • Create and analyze assessments to evaluate learning effectiveness and instructional improvement opportunities – e.g. pre-tests, post-tests, and quizzes.

  • Use ISD current Learning Theory to solve complex learning and performance problems.

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.  

You'll Bring These Qualifications:

  • Product Trainer: 3 Years of relevant experience with Bachelors; or 1 Years of relevant experience with Masters.

  • Principal Product Trainer: 6 Years of relevant experience with Bachelors; or 4 Years of relevant experience with Masters.

  • Four additional years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.  

  • Must have US Citizenship with an Active Secret Clearance or higher (awarded within the past 6 years), and the ability to obtain, and maintain access to Special Access Programs (SAP)  as a condition of continued employment.

  • Must be able to work in a lab environment and be able to collaborate closely with system engineers, hardware designers, and integration/test engineers.

  • Working knowledge of customer compliance documents, government instructions, and government standards.

These Qualifications Would Be Nice To Have:

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, collaborative/team settings across all levels.

  • Ability to read schematic diagrams dealing with wiring and fluid flow desired.

  • Military training system and/or Instructional Systems Design experience desired.

  • Military maintenance instructor experience desired.

  • ICBM or related domain experience.

  • Basic understanding of Agile processes.

  • Training needs analysis (and other forms of analysis) that informs objectives and training design.

  • Design and development of curriculum for advanced technologies.

  • Conducted Formative and Summative training evaluations.

Salary Range: $53,500 USD - $98,800 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
