Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Product Trainer to support weapon system-based training. This position will be located in Roy, UT and will support the Sentinel Program on the Support and Training Team. Learn more about the Sentinel program here. Qualified individuals will provide technical writing support to design and development of training courseware and training devices.

•             The Product Trainer will support the Training Services Lead in providing design, development, and delivery of training courseware and related services. The selected candidate will support the creation and maintenance of formal curricula and other related training services. 

Job Responsibilities:

•             Support the development of criteria for evaluating effectiveness of training activities
•             Continuously revises lesson plans to meet new training requirements and maintain updated technical information
•             Develop task lists, objectives, syllabi and training products according to DoD, USAF and ACC operating instructions and Instructional System Design (ISD)
•             Provide input to meet new training requirements and to keep technical information up to date.
•             Create instructional materials and products for technology-based courses - including online, mobile, immersive and performance support
•             Demonstrate and use effective needs analysis, project management, course development, and evaluation skills
•             Instruction materials – self-paced guides, case studies, job aids, evaluations; scenario-based storyboards; mobile learning concepts (smart phones, tablets)
•             Training materials – instructor guides, student manuals, workbooks, related materials; curricula to support program implementation across target audiences
•             Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to identify specific training needs and develop solutions for satisfying unique skills based training requirements.
•             Create and analyze assessments to evaluate learning effectiveness and instructional improvement opportunities – e.g. pre-tests, post-tests, and quizzes
•             Use ISD current Learning Theory to solve complex learning and performance problems 


Basic Qualifications: 

  • Product Trainer: 3 Years experience with Bachelors; 1 Year with Masters or an additional 4 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree
  • Principal Trainer: 6 Years experience with Bachelors; 4 Year with Masters or an additional 4 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree
  • Must have a Secret Security Clearance and the ability to be granted Special Program Access
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, collaborative/team settings across all levels. 
  • Must be comfortable in a lab environment and be able to collaborate closely with system engineers, hardware designers, and integration/test engineers
  • Working knowledge of customer compliance documents, government instructions, and government standards

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to read schematic diagrams dealing with wiring and fluid flow desired
  • Military training system and/or Instructional Systems Design experience desired
  • Military maintenance instructor experience desired
  • ICBM or related domain experience
  • Basic understanding of Agile processes
  • Training needs analysis (and other forms of analysis) that informs objectives and training design
  • Design and development of curriculum for advanced technologies
  • Conducted Formative and Summative training evaluations
     

Salary Range: $53,500 USD - $80,300 USD
Salary Range 2: $65,800 USD - $98,800 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
