Explore your future and launch your career today.  Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Principal Mechanical Engineer to join the Payload Team. This position will be located in Roy, UT and support the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program. Learn more about the GBSD program here. What You’ll Get To Do:  The selected candidate will function as a Mechanical Engineer/Structural Analyst of aerospace equipment for the Payload Reentry System (PRS) Systems Engineering Integration and Test (SEIT) Mechanical and Electrical Design Team (MDI/EDI). Responsibilities will include the testing and validation of those designs. Applies extensive technical expertise, and has full knowledge of other related disciplines. Able to communicate effectively and clearly present technical approaches and findings. Basic Qualifications: • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Aerospace Engineering and 5 years of related experience with Bachelors in Science; 3 years with Masters: 0 years with PhD • Experience with Finite Element Analysis using Abaqus and or NX Nastran/FEMAP • Experience using NX CAD • Experience with Model Based Definition • Active Secret Clearance required to start
Preferred Qualifications: • Masters of Science in Mechanical Engineering • Experience with ICBM Weapon System or Aerospace programs is preferable • Experience with FEM analysis of aerospace structures • Experience with dynamics and heat transfer analysis of aerospace structures
