Explore your future and launch your career today.   Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Senior Principal Support Equipment Electrical Engineer for the Product Support organization. This position will be located in Roy, UT and will support the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program. Learn more about the GBSD program here.   Job Description: Electrical engineering researches, develops, designs, and tests electrical components, equipment, systems, and networks. Designs electrical equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems. Electrical engineering is involved in all phases of research and product lifecycle development starting with requirements, initial concepts, trade studies, early design influence, design and development, fabrication/procurement, engineering evaluation testing, verification, delivery of hardware, and support of delivered hardware.   The successful candidate must:  
  • Be responsible for their projects, preparing reports, and briefing leadership. 
  • Communicate clearly and frequently within the program and outside with customer counterparts.
  • Represent the organization in providing solutions to difficult technical issues associated with specific projects. 
  • Possess the ability to handle multiple tasks in a dynamic environment, including critical thinking and technical problem solving skills.
  • This job can be filled at either a level 3 or level 4.

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.


Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or STEM discipline with 9 years of relatable engineering experience; 7 years with a Master's of Science in Electrical Engineering or a STEM discipline; 4 years with a PhD
  • Proficient with 3D design / 2D drawing CAD in NX
  • Experience with Teamcenter
  • Experience establishing product requirements, design of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical equipment
  • Ability to obtain and retain a security clearance
  • Must be knowledgeable in Microsoft Office Suite - Project, PowerPoint, Excel, Word
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Hands on experience in equipment maintenance, fabrication, assembly, power, hand and measuring tools
  • In depth Aerospace / ICBM maintenance experience
  • Knowledge in design of mechanical and electrical ICBM subsystems
  • Knowledge in the development of SE design solutions
  • Current DoD Secret clearance
  • Experience conducting analysis of electrical components, determining effectiveness and creating written recommendations for increasing efficiency and effectiveness.
