Explore your future and launch your career today.   Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Senior Principal Electrical Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position is a key team member supporting the development of the Physical Security System (PSS) for the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program (Minuteman III ICBM replacement) development contract.    The successful applicant will:
  • Provide subject matter expertise on Physical Security System design and development, concept of operation, user interface, testing, deployment, and maintenance
  • Ensure PSS design meets program specific requirements and Air Force and DoD general requirements, policies and procedures for security of nuclear weapons
  • Conduct studies and analyses of the Physical Security system and ancillary components
  • Develop models of the Physical Security system components
  • In addition to integrating with the PSS team, interface with other elements, and the system and segment level teams
  • Apply the principles of engineering to design components and systems using applicable standards and specifications
  • Support all phases of the systems lifecycle including concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal
  • Maintain design documentation and follow configuration management requirements

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.  UTSpace

Basic qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science in a STEM(Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) discipline with minimum 9 years’ experience, or 7 years’ experience with Master's of Science in a STEM(Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) disciplin; 4 years with a PhD
  • Active Secret Clearance with a recent (5 yr) background investigation
 Preferred Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with Access Control or Intrusion Detection systems
  • Active Top Secret Clearance
