Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Systems Engineer This position will be located in Roy, Utah and will support the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program. Learn more about the GBSD program here.
Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
Strong, open communicator with systems and mission engineering emphasis with specific interest/experience in systems engineering processes. Understanding of Technical Performance Measure (TPM) reporting and process compliance is desired.

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Strong, open communicator with systems and mission engineering emphasis with specific interest/experience in systems engineering processes. Understanding of Technical Performance Measure (TPM) reporting and process compliance is desired.
Principal Systems Engineer:
- Provide technical solutions to a wide range of complex difficult problems. Solutions are imaginative, thorough, practicable, and consistent with organization objectives.
- Works under only general direction. Independently determines and develops approach to solutions. Work is reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives.
- Contributes to the completion of specific programs and projects. Failure to obtain results or erroneous decisions or recommendations would typically result in serious program delays and considerable expenditure of resources.
- Have frequent inter-organizational and outside customer contacts. Represents the organization in providing solutions to difficult technical issues associated with specific projects.

- Bachelor’s Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics discipline from an accredited university with two years of experience or a Masters Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics discipline from an accredited university with no work experience for Systems Engineer. Principal Systems Engineer requires a minimum of 5 Years with Bachelors in Science; 3 Years with Masters; 0 Years with PhD
- Active DoD Secret clearance granted/investigated in the last 6 years
- Possess excellent oral and written communication skills
- Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office Suite - Project, PowerPoint, Excel, Word
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
- Proficient with DOORS and Cameo
- Experience establishing product requirements, design of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical equipment
- Experience with Teamcenter
- In depth Aerospace / ICBM maintenance experience
- Knowledge in design of mechanical and electrical ICBM subsystems
- Proven interaction in a distributed team environment
- Strong background in systems engineering design, testing, troubleshooting, and the process of the engineering review board
- Modeling and Simulation Experience
- DoD Acquisition Framework
- DOORS or similar Experience
- DEVSECOPS Experience
- Agile Experience
