Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking two Engineering Managers (S03) to lead the engineering processes and tools in the Strategic Deterrence Systems Division. These leadership roles will be located in Roy, Utah and will support the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program. Learn more about the GBSD program here. Northrop Grumman supports the Air Force’s sustainment, development, production and deployment of hardware and system modifications for Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Ground and Airborne Launch Control Systems, Launch Facilities and associated infrastructure.
The two positions are:
1) Aerospace Vehicle Products
2) Command, Control and Communication System Products
Roles and Responsibilities:
• Lead and direct an experienced and technically diverse engineering team responsible for planning, organizing and developing engineering processes specific to the particular discipline and/or portfolio of products
• Establish the processes that govern system development and sustainment and participate in the enforcement of processes
• Support coordination with industry and academia
• Emphasize process development using modern model-based methods and practices in support of a full digital engineering transformation
• Manage engineering tools and applications for the particular discipline and products and develop the necessary engineering support team to sustain and evolve capabilities
• Provide technical review authority, process audit and process enforcement across all program activities to ensure engineering integrity
• Utilize analytical problem solving skills and strategic thinking abilities to resolve business issues
• Collaborate with Engineering Directors, Program Office, Project Engineering, Business Management, and Division Leadership
• Mentor junior staff
• Support planning, budgeting staff forecasting for contract direct and indirect budgets supporting process development We are seeking qualified candidates with the following background:
• Expert in one or more engineering disciplines with proven technical accomplishment and experience
• Experienced leader in large complex program development in the DoD environment
• Understands the interactions among the various engineering disciplines, roles and responsibilities
• Detail and team oriented with demonstrated leadership and organization skills
• Skilled at solving unique problems and making sound engineering decisions
• Demonstrated sense of urgency, ownership of tasks and accountability
• Strong written and verbal communications skills #UTSpace

Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelors of Science degree in engineering or related scientific fields
• 8 years of experience in engineering on complex programs
• Minimum 3 years of technical formal lead/management experience
• Knowledgeable of model-based engineering methods and tools
• Process minded with ability to develop written procedures
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Project)
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance (clearance not required to start)
Preferred Qualifications:
• Project management experience
• DoD Secret clearance with ability to achieve Top Secret Clearance
• Masters’ degree in Engineering or related scientific fields
