Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems sector is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer or a Principal Manufacturing Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals.  This position will be located in Saint Augustine, FL where technology and teamwork come together. The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman's Manufacturing Engineering Team working in a collaborative environment while promoting a positive and proactive teamwork environment.

Manufacturing Engineering job duties involve the following: provide guidance to Engineering regarding design concepts to ensure the best manufacturing technique is being used to meet the Engineering design, participate in tool design reviews to ensure tools are feasible and reduce build times and program costs during assembly, define sequence of operations for product builds, investigate and initiate corrective actions and improvements that involve non-conforming product and identify improvement opportunities in areas that require producibility and affordability initiatives. Provide liaison support for Engineering definition to influence low production costs for integrated assembly related to electrical, hydraulics, fuels, fluids and propulsion systems.

Manufacturing Engineers for Aeronautics Systems are expected to provide technical solutions to a wide range of complex and difficult problems. They are problem solvers who have the ability to provide results that are innovative, thorough, practical, and consistent with organization objectives. We seek Manufacturing Engineers that use a unique skill set that includes a hands-on approach and act as the technical representative voice for the Manufacturing organization.

Pay Ranges:

Engineering Manufacturing Pay Range: $64,600 to $97,000

Principal Engineering Manufacturing Pay Range: $79,700 to $119,500

Basic Qualifications for Manufacturing Engineer:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 2 years of experience in manufacturing/production OR Master's Degree with 0 years of experience
  • Experience reviewing and interpreting Blueprints and/or 3-D models
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain DOD Secret security clearance and Special Program Access within a reasonable amount of time

Basic Qualifications for Principal Manufacturing Engineer:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 5 years of experience in manufacturing/production OR Master's Degree with 3 years of experience
  • Demonstrated experience to formulate and execute technical solutions to part, assembly, and tooling challenges.
  • Experience reviewing and interpreting Blueprints and 3-D models
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems 
  • Ability to interface/communicate with multiple levels of leadership, clients, and vendors
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain DOD Secret security clearance and Special Program Access within a reasonable amount of time

Preferred Qualifications:            

  • STEM Degree preferred
  • Experience with Systems Engineering, Aircraft Maintenance, or Flight Test Support
  • Experience working hands-on in a production assembly line environment
  • Experience providing innovative techniques focused on improving product designs and tooling assemblies or equipment
  • Demonstrated Project Management Experience
  • Experience with developing enhancement processes that improve production shop floor efficiencies.
  • Experience with reviewing engineering models during concept design phase to correlate the manufacturing desired final engineering model.
  • Experience creating Visual Aids (VA) and/or Visual Work Instructions (VWI)
  • Experience working with Manufacturing Execution System (MES)
  • Various and extensive knowledge of all electrical processes and procedures associated to electrical connector and cable fabrication, assembly, routing and installation requirements.
  • Familiarity with various electrical specifications and procedures, computer Teamcenter visualization electrical 3D design model experience, HarnesSys and extensive MES and SAP experience.
  • Electrical Lead Experience

Salary Range: $64,600 USD - $97,000 USD
Salary Range 2: $79,700 USD - $119,500 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
