We have an exciting opportunity for a Mgr. Cost Accounting-Financial Controller to join the leadership team in the Americas, responsible for all financial and accounting operations across the US and Canadian entities for Northrop Grumman Sperry Marine.

Reporting to the Global Financial Controller based in Asia, the successful candidate will work closely with other regional offices and functions, providing financial oversight and counsel to support and drive business decisions and strategic planning at a regional level.

KEY ACOUNTABILITIES

The Mgr. Cost Accounting - Financial Controller performs a wide range of duties including but not limited to the following:

Controller

• Manage general accounting, reporting and compliance for the US and Canadian entities
• Ensure compliance with financial and regulatory requirements (e.g. GAAP, Tax, SOX)
• Accurate and timely month-end reporting in accordance with Group deadlines, policies and guidelines
• Liaise with corporate and sector Northrop Grumman teams on reporting, cost transfer, audit and compliance matters for US and Canadian business units
• Coordinate with tax service providers and international tax manager to facilitate regional tax compliance (Canada income and sales Tax Returns)
• Guide financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures
• Resolve complex accounting issues
• Review management reports and conduct financial analysis to drive recommendations in support of process improvement, budget control and other key business decisions
• Support Financial Planning on the preparation of forecast and annual budgeting process inputs
• Manage multi-currency and multi-country A/P, AR, payroll, sales tax, and regional segregation compliance.
• Review and authorization of journal postings, payment proposals, travel expense reporting, treasury transactions and treasury workflow
• General bookkeeping and month-end journal processing as required
• Drive regional cash collection, cash management and credit control
• Manage employee benefit obligations and reporting in Canada (e.g. retirement saving account filing, workers compensation filings, corporate credit card scheme)

General

• Mentor the American and Canadian finance team with responsibility for performance management and development
• Collaborate with functional and business managers regionally and globally on key business decisions and strategic planning
• Support Sales, Logistics and Purchasing Administrators in Canada
• Continuous process improvement
• Manage the highest standards of compliance in all areas
• To be aware of and comply with Company Standards of Conduct and all relevant statutory requirements
• To carry out and other reasonable management request.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Business / Accounting and 5 years work experience
• Exposure working in an international organisation or environment
• Proven leadership skills, managing, motivating and empowering culturally diverse staff on- and off-site
• Independent and motivated towards achieving results and continuous process improvement
• Analytical, proactive, meticulous and strong at business partnering•Good organisational and project management skills, and highly effective communication, both verbal and written
• Acts with integrity and objectivity, maintaining high standards of professionalism and accountability
• Ability to travel on occasion
• High proficiency in Excel

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of the Marine Industry
• US GAAP knowledge
• IFS knowledge (ERP)

Salary Range: $85,400 USD - $106,700 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
