The qualified applicant will join a cohort of employees re-entering the workforce after a career break of at least two years. This cohort will receive special on-boarding designed to provide an effective re-entry into the workforce. iReturnâ„ provides experienced professionals with a 12-week "returnship" to prepare for a full-time career in one of several fields at Northrop Grumman through training, professional development and networking opportunities. Qualified applicants
will join a cohort of employees returning to the workforce after a 2+ career break for this "returnship" program that focuses on giving you a seamless transition back into the workforce. Upon completion of the program, candidates will be eligible for full-time roles with the company.
iReturn: The Northrop Grumman Returnship Program
Position is for an individual to perform calibration, maintenance and repair activities of electronic measuring and test equipment to commercial specifications and/or internally developed procedures to validate equipment accuracies and performance integrity. Calibrate, repair and evaluate performance of standard and non-standard electronic equipment to verbal and written specifications utilizing sensitive and intricate comparison standards and devices. Calibration and verification of such devices as commercially available Oscilloscopes, DMM's, Frequency Counters, Thermo measuring and Recording Devices and Electro-optical measurement equipment utilizing intricate setups, and exercising a thorough knowledge of calibration techniques.
Experience is needed with various calibration and testing equipment as well as possessing troubleshooting and repair skills. Must have adequate electronic aptitude, and be conversant with the terminology and techniques of calibration practices. Basic computer skills and experience with Microsoft Excel and Access is required. Must have the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with peers and co-workers in a team environment. Bending, stooping and lifting of test equipment is required. May be required to work occasional late evenings and/or weekend overtime as necessary to meet factory deadlines or departmental expectations. Operational experience with vacuum, pressure, thermo-dynamic and optical measuring equipment desired. Familiarity with military and aerospace industry concepts, practices and procedures and / or PML training is preferred.
Must be able to work collaboratively with others in a team environment.Â
Tasks:
- Test, calibrate, adjust, and maintain electromechanical, mechanical, optical, pneumatic, hydro mechanical, and pressure-type measuring and indicating instruments.
- Calibrate Commercial Test Equipment as well as specialized internally-developed Test Sets and individual testing equipment.
- Set up calibration sequences, methods and procedures according to detailed specifications, blueprints, drawings, internally developed procedures, Manufacturer Manuals and other requirements.
- Troubleshoot, disassemble, clean, repair, and replace defective parts as necessary.
- Exercise a thorough knowledge of calibration techniques and utilizes a large array of various Calibration Equipment and Calibration Standards in the performance of the assigned duties
Basic Qualifications:
- A career break of at least two years
- 1-3 years or equivalent experience in a Manufacturing or Test Environment.
- Basic knowledge of Oscilloscopes, Digital Multimeters and the ability to interpret schematic drawings.
- Must have basic computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Ability to work in collaborative team environment.
- Able to prioritize and adjust tasks simultaneously to accomplish the project result.
- Able to analyze data to discover facts, knowledge, interpretations to carry out
prescribed action(s). - Able to apply technologies, scientific principles, theories and concepts.
- Able to perform work in an approved environment during specified work hours and support occasional overtime work as needed.
- Ability to compute, analyze, and interpret numerical data for reporting purposes.
- Ability to validate and adjust precise measurements.
- Ability to frequently move and position objects weighing up to 40 lbs.
- Ability to frequently push a calibration cart to various on-site locations.
- Ability to frequently bend, kneel and stoop to gain access to equipment and adjustments.
