iReturn (Return to Work) Program – Tool and Gage Technician

The qualified applicant will join a cohort of employees re-entering the workforce after a career break of at least two years. This cohort will receive special on-boarding designed to provide an effective re-entry into the workforce. iReturn. provides experienced professionals with a 12-week "returnship" to prepare for a full-time career in one of several fields at Northrop Grumman through training, professional development and networking opportunities. Qualified applicants will join a cohort of employees returning to the workforce after a 2+ career break for this "returnship" program that focuses on giving you a seamless transition back into the workforce. Upon completion of the program, candidates will be eligible for full-time roles with the company.

iReturn: The Northrop Grumman Returnship Program

Position is for a Tool and Dimensional Calibration technician at our Salt Lake City Utah facility. This individual performs layouts involving angles, precision linier and angular coordinated dimensions and reference points on multiple planes and three-dimensional projections. Inspects and determines acceptability on all types of precision tooling and machined parts with precise and exacting measurements using algebraic and triganomic calculations where required. Inspects and calibrates a multitude of precision measuring devices and complex tooling. Calibrates Torque Devices and all other types of general dimensional measuring equipment such as Micrometers, Calipers, Thread Plug Gages, Rings Gages etc.

Must be capable of making precise and exact measurements of complex close-tolerance tooling. Must be competent in the use of precision measuring equipment such as CMM, Super-Micrometer, Optical Comparator, precision caliper, angle plates, sine plates, micrometers, electronic height gauges, digital drop gauges, Tool-makers Microscope etc. Must be familiar with geometric dimensioning and tolerance validations per ANSI Y14.5M, 1982 or equivalent. Must have competent computer skills.

Basic Qualifications :

• A career break of at least two years
• 1-3+ years or equivalent experience in a Manufacturing or Test Environment.
• Basic knowledge of, and how to read Micrometers, Calipers, Torque Devices.  
• The ability to read and interpret tooling schematics and drawings.
• Knowledge of basic Geometric symbols and dimensional tolerance equations.
• Must have basic computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Ability to work in collaborative team environment.
• Able to prioritize and adjust tasks simultaneously to accomplish the project result.
• Able to analyze data to discover facts, knowledge, interpretations to carry out
  prescribed action(s).
• Able to apply technologies, scientific principles, theories and concepts.
• Able to perform work in an approved environment during specified work hours and support occasional overtime work as needed.
• Ability to compute, analyze, and interpret numerical data for reporting purposes.
• Ability to validate and adjust precise measurements.
• Ability to frequently move and position objects weighing up to 40 lbs.
• Ability for general bending, kneeling and stooping and periodically standing for long periods.

Salary Range: $47,100 USD - $78,500 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
