At Northrop Grumman, you’ll have the resources, support, and team to do some of the best work of your career.  Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a talented Inspector to join our team in Salt Lake City, Utah! The qualified applicant will join a cohort of employees re-entering the workforce after a career break of at least two years. This cohort will receive special on-boarding designed to provide an effective re-entry into the workforce. iReturnâ„  provides experienced professionals with a 12-week "returnship" to prepare for a full-time career in one of several fields at Northrop Grumman through training, professional development and networking opportunities. Qualified applicants will join a cohort of employees returning to the workforce after a 2+ career break for this "returnship" program that focuses on giving you a seamless transition back into the workforce. This cohort program will approximately run from August - November and prepare candidates for an effective re-entry into the workforce. Upon completion of the program, candidates will be eligible for full-time roles with the company.

Learn more about the iReturn program here .  The roles and responsibilities are: 
  • The Inspector uses predetermined methods, operations, setups and prescribed specifications to inspect visually and completed products such as electronic units and subsystems, precision electromechanical assemblies or mechanical units, subassemblies, structural flaws, internal defects, and missing welds.
  • Uses various measuring devices as described in the Assembly Instruction.
  • Inspector will utilize released build documentation to make good part/bad part decisions.
  • Inspector will utilize drawings, part list, Assembly Instructions, Standard Shop Practices, dial indicators, micrometers, scales and other tools as defined by the work instruction.
  • Inspector will utilize SAP (Standards, Applications and Process) daily to interface with production hardware.
  • Inspector will review contracts and shipping paperwork for accuracy.     
 

Basic Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma and 6+ years of relevant experience and a current career break of at least 2 years.
  • Ability to read blue prints and part lists
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds
  • Ability to sit for long periods of time
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Computer literate
  • Ability to work in an ESD environment
  • Ability to spend shift in area personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Ability to review and understand Contracts

Preferred Qualifications:
  • J-STD Training (including color acuity)
  • IPCA 610/620 Training
  • Torque Training
  • Prior knowledge of SAP
  • Experience in determining conforming versus non-conforming
