At Northrop Grumman, you’ll have the resources, support, and team to do some of the best work of your career.   We are seeking an experienced Quality Engineering Manager to join our team of talented, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Salt Lake City, Utah. The Salt Lake City facility has an on-site cafeteria, state-of-the-art fitness center, and a friendly casual work environment. In addition, the site follows an alternate 9/80 work week schedule for most positions.   Duties include, but are not limited to:  
  • Provide leadership and oversight of Quality Engineering and Quality Assurance teams (Approximately 10+ individuals) at the Salt Lake City location.
  • Assess and deliver timely and meaningful performance reviews for employees to drive performance.
  • Work closely with other functional groups to effectively resolve issues in a collaborative work environment.
  • Develop, implement and maintain quality assurance standards, methods and procedures in compliance documented processes.
  • Conduct internal and external audits of the Quality Management System to assure contractual and procedural compliance documented standards in manufacturing and related operations.
  • Develop and present metrics to effectively communicate health of product/program Quality.
  • Perform quality assurance inspection, audits and surveillance during the First Article phase of product development, manufacture, test and delivery, perform appropriate documentation, coordinate corrective actions, and follow-up to assure effectiveness of solution.
  • Perform self-audits to verify requirements, and process specifications, assembly methods and testing procedures.  Projects include: Development of RFQ's, QA Lead for Internal Quality Audits, Process Improvement projects, Customer & Government Corrective Actions, and Cost of Quality reports (etc. CAB, FOD, FAI oversight, Workmanship, Corrective Actions status, SRP usage) and flow down of contract quality requirements.
  This position will report the Site Quality Assurance Manager at Salt Lake City.     MAQEA 

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree and 9+ years of relevant experience (or 7+ years of relevant experience with a Master’s degree)
  • 2+ years of lead or management experience
  • Ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance?  (US Citizenship required)
  Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in STEM 
  • 5+ years of experience in quality, manufacturing or engineering in the Aerospace and/or Defense industry
  • Experience with reading and interpreting customer quality requirements
  • One or more of the following certifications:  Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, Quality Engineer, Quality Manager or equivalent
  • Experience managing or leading quality personnel in production, integration, or test environments
