We are looking for you to join our team as a Cyber Ops Planner based out of San Antonio, TX.

What You’ll get to Do:

Provides full spectrum Computer Network Operations (CNO) support to Combatant Commanders and DoD organizations. Provides planning and targeting support to integrate and synchronize cyber operations and exercises. Duties include development of military operational plans and development of innovative solutions to complex problems. Experience is necessary supporting compartmented or special operations such as Special Technical Operations (STO) Planning, Tailored Technical Operations, or service in a position with similar responsibilities and must have a working knowledge of CNO theory, employment, and tactics, techniques and procedures. Must be familiar with DoD or Service CNO policy and processes, the Joint Operations Planning Process and security policy and execution.

This position requires knowledge of the DoD Defensive Cyber Operations (DCO) Weapon System capabilities, operation and implementation, cyberspace operations and activities, the missions, responsibilities, and capabilities of external organizations supporting CPT activities, the standing rules of engagement, the objectives and key outputs of each CPT phase, current cyberspace defense capabilities and TTPs. Additional mission-specific training and qualifications may be required to fulfill all assigned duties, to include maintaining weapons and tactics mission qualification, maintaining active 8570 information assurance certification, participating in Wing and squadron discussions, lightning talks, and debriefs.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Disseminate changes and updates to Weapons and Tactics related Air Force Instructions, program directives to support cyber units
  • Development, review, and implementation of strategies, plans, and priorities for cyber systems.
  • Assist in the review of military operational plans and development of innovative solutions to complex problems.
  • Provide Defensive Cyberspace Operations (DCO) training for Cyber Wing subordinate units
  • Provide Weapons and Tactics Analysis Summary Reports
  • Analyze, create, and post DCO tactical information reports for Cyber Wing unit personnel
  • Collect, analyze, report, record, and communicate Tactics Improvement Proposals (TIP)
  • Integrate Cyberspace Weapons Systems Tactics, Techniques, & Procedures (TTP) into the Wing Exercise Program
  • Assist in the coordination and execution of meetings, briefings, courses and exercises supporting the development and implementation of Tactics, Intel, Training, Stan/Eval
  • Provide updates to W&T files, libraries, and databases
  • Review Lessons Learned from subordinate units and identify areas requiring W&T training
  • Facilitate 67 CW Tactics Review Board (TRB) Collect, analyze, report, record, and communicate Tactics Improvement Proposals (TIP)
  • Facilitate quarterly Tactics, Intel, Training, Stan/Eval (TITE) meetings, Tactical Planners Course (TPC), Weapons Instructor Course (WIC) selection process, and cyber-specific tactical planning events
  • Provide Operations Review Board (ORB) support
  • Update staff meeting slides Interface with unit Task Management Tool.

Job Qualifications:

This position may be filled at a level 2 or 3 based on the requirements below.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Experience
    • Level 2: Bachelor’s degree in related field with 2 years of experience. Or, 0 years with a Master’s degree. An additional 4 years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
    • Level 3: Bachelor’s degree in related field with 5 years of experience. Or, 3 years with a Master’s degree. Or, 0 years with a PhD. An additional 4 years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
  • The ability to travel up to 25% nationwide with trips varying in length, as dictated by the customer
  • An active DoD 8570/8140 IAT level 3 certification (CASP+, CCNP Security, CISA, CISSP, GCED, or GCIH)
  • DoD Top Secret clearance with ability to obtain SCI access
  • Proficient in Linux and the use of Powershell
  • Working knowledge of Cyber Operations theory, employment, and tactics, techniques and procedures

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior cyber operations squadron work experience and/or prior USAF cyber weapons system certification
  • Advanced training or certification with cyber operations tools, network penetration testing, or cyber threat detection and mitigation
  • Experience with the Plan, Brief, Execute, Debrief (PBED) process – including lessons learned
  • Experience leading CPT operators in the implementation of TTPs and new capabilities

Salary Range: $64,200 USD - $96,200 USD
Salary Range 2: $79,400 USD - $119,200 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
