Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is actively seeking an experienced IT Professional to join our team in San Antonio, Texas, filling a role that requires a broad array of knowledge and skills.

We're looking for a highly motivated individual with an impeccable work ethic and a strong ability to work in a collaborative fast-moving dynamic team environment.  Responsibilities are in more than one of the following information systems and/or related areas: personal computer applications training, data control and scheduling coordination, systems administration, data security administration, and associated fields.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Will independently coordinate and perform hardware integration, relocation, and periodic maintenance in Department of Defense (DoD) and DoD accredited Government and contractor facilities.  This requires infrequent Continental United States (CONUS) travel requiring direct coordination with Program Manager (PM) on budgetary constraints and limitations
  • Frequent collaboration with internal company and external contacts. Represents organization on specific projects and tracking metrics. May make presentations to small groups
  • Develops solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity.
  • Works under only very general supervision. Work is reviewed for soundness of judgment and overall adequacy and accuracy

This position can be filled as an Information Systems Admin. Generalist or a Principal Information Systems Admin. Generalist

Basic Qualifications:

  • Information Systems Admin Generalist: Bachelor’s degree in related field with 3 years of experience. Or, 1 year with a Master’s degree.  An additional 4 years of demonstrated ability is required in lieu of a degree.
  • Principal Information Systems Admin Generalist: Bachelor’s degree in related field with 6 years of experience. Or, 4 years with a Master’s degree. Or, 0 years with a PhD.  An additional 4 years of demonstrated ability is required in lieu of a degree.
  • US Citizenship is required with an active DoD Top Secret/SCI security clearance which was granted in the last 24 months
  • Must possess or be able to obtain DoD 8570 Certification for IAT Level II or higher within two (2) months of starting
  • Must be able to work standing and lift 50lbs

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Possess an understanding of and be able to manage the lifecycle management principles for a secure computer network’s hardware and software requirement.  This will include: managing the tracking of basic hardware maintenance schedules for a complex distributed network architecture
  • Knowledge of the complexities of dealing with both software & hardware license and warranty issues.  This includes cost evaluations and variations
  • Bachelor's or higher degree in a technical field highly desired
  • Have a moderate understanding of computer networks and the OSI model. A firm understanding of layer 1 for the purposes of connectivity and troubleshooting is essential
  • Experience with IT procurement issues and supply chain integrity
  • General knowledge of supply chain and product integrity concepts
  • Experience with military / DoD installations and practices
  • Experience with Cisco network equipment (Cisco certifications a plus)
  • Experience deploying computer equipment in non-familiar workspaces
  • When required, have the ability to work outside of normal working hours and weekends as needed to support the customer’s needs



Salary Range: $64,600 USD - $97,000 USD
Salary Range 2: $79,700 USD - $119,500 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
