Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking a highly qualified, mission oriented individual to lead a System Integration and Test Engineering (SITE) Integrated Product Team (IPT) comprised of multiple disciplines that include System Integration Lab test, flight test, production test and mission planning. As the Deputy SITE IPT Lead, you will direct a team of up to 15 engineers, lab operations personnel and managers. During test execution events you will lead a larger integrated team of up to 20-30 team members that will span across multiple disciplines and locations that include NG personnel, USAF government teams and international entities. You will provide technical leadership and guidance to all members, both NG and government, to ensure program milestones are achieved while maintaining technical rigor. This role will require keen knowledge of the air vehicle and test process, applying exceptional knowledge and technical rigor to future development projects, proposals and technical challenges. This candidate will also be the lead certified Cost Account Manager (CAM) for all Test IPT cost accounts for current development and production initiatives as well as future continued support initiatives. The Deputy International Test IPT lead will actively promote Agile Enterprise initiatives and lead the team in this specific area by providing emphasis, training, and resources needed by the team. This candidate will work directly with high levels of management both internal and external, and often foreign. Candidate must understand the full lifecycle of an international platform, and clearly articulate challenges and opportunities for the success of the overall program. This candidate will also manage risks, issues and opportunities related to the technical execution of the program.

Section Manager responsibilities include working closely with the System Test Engineering Department Manager and fellow section managers to implement department and CoE initiatives, ensuring successful planning and execution of program test engineering activities, collaborating with programs to satisfy staffing needs and provide operations support (incident investigations, metrics collection and analysis, etc.), setting Talent + goals and providing regular performance feedback to employees, supporting the annual salary review and promotion process, mentoring and developing the next generation of technical and project leadership, and improving and implementing test engineering processes and procedures.

The responsibilities of this position include (but are not limited to) the following:

  • Serve as the Deputy System Integration and Test Engineering IPT Lead in support of International Global Hawk integration and test team to include Foreign Military Sales programs.
  • Technical management of 20-30 engineers across multiple disciplines to achieve programmatic goals.
  • Manage execution across multiple contracts for system level verification, operational verification and sustainment initiatives.
  • Perform workforce planning in collaboration with the functional homeroom.
  • Coaching and mentoring employees within the team, but sometimes outside the (direct) team.
  • Lead strategies for future enhancements and improvements, with focus on affordability.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments and collaborative/team settings across all levels.
  • Perform CAM duties for SITE FMS cost accounts.
  • Develop yearly material and labor forecasts and manage to allocated budgets.
  • Support Proposal development for all activities.
  • Identify and develop Risk and Opportunities for I&T; assist with mitigation and scheduling; With opportunity emphasis on Agile Engineering/Enterprise.
  • Build an engineering project management culture that empowers employees, establishes personal and team accountability, motivates team performance, encourages development, and supports innovation.
  • Drives Enterprise agile and continuous integration through support of continued increases in test automation, especially NI-based, RVT-driven bench automation
  • Drives and champions the adoption of “Test-Like-You-Fly test operations, risk assessments, self-reporting configuration, virtual test environments, fix-it-now, and other affordability initiatives.

Basic Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university
  • Minimum of 7 years of engineering experience
  • Must have an Active in Scope DOD Secret Clearance

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Master’s Degree in engineering or management
  • Cost Account Management experience 
  • Excellent Communication Skills
  • Proven Leadership Skills
  • Five or more years’ experience as a manager
  • Experience in Lab or Flight integration and Test
  • Top Secret Clearance

Salary Range: 127800 - 191600

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
