Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for an Associate Engineer Software – Integration & Test engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in San Diego, CA; Palmdale, CA; or Oklahoma City, OK. Candidates will work on software supporting various space, aircraft, and ground systems in all phases of the software development lifecycle including design, development and test. 

Essential Functions:

  • Knowledge of, and experience working in, all phases for the Software Development Lifecycle
  • Analyze requirements allocated to computer software configuration items (CSCI)
  • Design, development, maintenance and execution of automated software tests for qualification of embedded software products  
  • Experienced in working in a lab environment on an Agile project
  • Work in a fast-paced environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, collaborative/team settings across all levels and adapt to change.  
  • Full development life-cycle processes that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
  • Coordinating with multiple teams and managing tasks.
  • The role will be a hybrid of significantly diverse assignments in a collaborative/team setting across all levels.
  • Develop and execute software installation, integration, and acceptance test procedures in an automated test environment.
  • Develop detailed, clear, and concise quality technical documentation.
  • Perform software integration planning and execution of separate software components into a single system.
  • Work with software developers and other engineers, as needed, to help diagnose and identify the root cause of problems found during software installation, integration, acceptance test, and operational events.
  • Submit detailed problem reports for errors found. Candidate must be comfortable in both development, lab, and operational environments, as well as be able to collaborate closely with system engineers, hardware designers, integration/test engineers, and program leadership. 

Basic Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university
  • An active in-scope DoD Top Secret clearance, and the ability to obtain and maintain program access
  • Must have software test and debugging experience
  • Experience in software integration, software testing, and test automation
  • Must have experience with formal software life cycle development methodologies, requirements through test
  • Must be able to independently determine and develop approach to solutions.
  • Must have experience in Agile methodologies

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering
  • Excellent 2-way communication skills (upward and downward)
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to interface with all levels of employees and management.
  • Ability to brief technical presentations to stakeholders
  • Agile Systems Engineering Experience
  • Demonstrated communication and technical writing skills.
  • Experience with Confluence and JIRA
  • Python / Java / JavaScript / C / C++ programing experience and familiarity
  • Experience with scripting languages (developing, debugging and maintaining);
  • Availability to support occasional travel

Salary Range: 66900 - 100300

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
