Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems (NGAS) is seeking a Principal Program Cost Schedule & Control Analyst (Level 3) in their San Diego, CA facility to support Material Cost Management within Business Management. This position allows the flexibility of a partial telecommute schedule.

This position will provide assistance and guidance to support the implementation of Earned Value Management System (EVMS) to Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) and Control Account Managers (CAMs), while ensuring compliance to DOD EVMS guidelines and the Autonomous Systems Division EVM System.

This is a fast paced high energy environment that requires a self-motivated employee to join the team. Apply your experience with Earned Value and performance measurement baseline concepts and ability to apply them to multiple contracts for control accounts within an engineering Integrated Product Team (IPT).

The Program Cost Control Analyst will possess the following traits and abilities:

Understand and communicate unique problems and recommend potential business/process solutions; work under very general supervision while completing numerous assignments per schedule and elevating potential issues to ensure proper management focus; exert some influence on peers and internal customers; good interpersonal skills while representing the group on special projects outside of own group.

This Analyst will focus in EVMS support for Major Subcontracts and General Procurement (GP). Responsible for preparing month-end reports; developing and reviewing EAC's; incorporation of changes into the EVMS system in order to maintain Major Subcontract/GP cost & schedule baselines. The analyst will assist CAMs for EVMS activities including: WBS alignment, time phasing of the tasks, developing and documenting earned value methodologies, monthly performance measurement, estimate to complete analysis and updates, and variance analysis research and reporting. Support monthly cost and schedule reviews, identify pressures and opportunities, and develop recovery plans as the need arises. A preferred candidate will be experienced with working in MPM/COBRA as an EVM tool and will have experience working in SAP.

The candidate would have experience training junior employees or leading a small to mid-sized team. Candidate must have an understanding of the procurement process and business flow of material through the supply chain & able to work with multiple stakeholders of different disciplines/backgrounds. Effectively manage evolving requirements and tool/system enhancements and think innovatively for work-around when vital.

Basic Qualifications;

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or related with 6 years of related experience in financial analysis or a Master’s Degree with 4 years related experience in financial analysis

  • Demonstrated working knowledge of EVMS Financial forecasting and/or material accounting experience

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel and PowerPoint)

  • Ability to work on-site weekly in San Diego, CA with a Hybrid telecommute schedule.

Preferred Qualifications;

  • Understanding of Business Systems (SAP/MPM/Cobra)

  • A current and active DoD Security clearance or ability to obtain a Secret clearance


Salary Range: $83,800 USD - $125,800 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
