Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for an Automation Lead to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Rancho Bernardo, CA.  The selected candidate will be leading at team working with the latest technologies to automate applications and infrastructure.
 
Essential Functions:
Improve the software factory to include continuous test and continuous deployment in addition to the continuous build and continuous integration pipeline
Experience using the Agile methodology to plan/assign tasks
Apply knowledge and experience using cloud native technologies
Lead a team of Automation engineers and coordinate across teams
Authoring documentation and presentations to the customer and management
Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to interface with all levels of employees, technical leadership, management and customer
 
The selected candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments and collaborative/team settings across all levels.  
 
Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) with 14 years of related engineering experience; OR a Master’s degree in STEM with 12 years of related engineering experience, or a PhD in STEM with 9 related engineering experience
  • Ability to comprehend and analyze complex problems and develop solutions
  • Ability to demonstrate success in leading and developing multi-discipline team
  • Experience with software development (Java, C++, C# or any modern object-oriented language) and its life cycle
  • Experience with build tools (i.e., Maven, Ant) and continuous integration environments (i.e., Bamboo, Jenkins,TeamCity)
  • Experience with infrastructure automation using three or more of these products: Ansible, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Packer and SaltStack
  • Experience developing Bash and Python scripts
  • Strong background in Linux/Unix/Windows Administration
  • Experience with VMware infrastructure and automation
  • Active and in-scope Top Secret clearance with ability to obtain and maintain PAR

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Already cleared to the program
  • Experience with infrastructure automation using all of these products: Ansible, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Packer and SaltStack
  • Experience with VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) and vRealize Automation
  • Experience with VMware Codestream
  • Experience leading multi-discipline team of engineers
  • Experience with developing formal builds within the DoD industry
  • System level thinking

Salary Range: $156,000 USD - $234,000 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
