Job Description

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems seeks an RF Test Engineer Level 3 or 4 to work within the Networked Information Solutions Division at the Rancho Carmel facility in San Diego, CA.


This position will support the development, integration, testing, and production of RF avionics products. The selectee's activities will range from hands-on assembly and testing, to analysis of failure trends, and root cause/ corrective action. Designs, develops, and implements testing methods and equipment. Plans and arranges the labor, schedules, and equipment required for testing and evaluating standard and special devices. Provides test area with parameters for sample testing and specifies tests to be performed. Compiles data and defines changes required in testing equipment, testing procedures, manufacturing processes, or new testing requirements. Responsible for testing all customer samples and for special tests that cannot be performed in the test area.


**This position may be filled at a level 3 or 4 position**
Level 3 Basic Qualifications:


•    Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering or related engineering discipline with 5 Years of relevant experience. Or 3 years with Masters degree. 
•    Solid working knowledge of analog, digital and RF Circuit operation and troubleshooting.
•    Competent use of lab equipment including oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, noise figure measurements, etc.
•    Ability to obtain SECRET Security Clearance

Level 4 Basic Qualifications:
•    Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering or related engineering discipline with 9 Years of relevant experience. Or 7 years with Masters degree. 
•    Solid working knowledge of analog, digital and RF Circuit operation and troubleshooting.
•    Competent use of lab equipment including oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, noise figure measurements, etc.
•    Ability to obtain SECRET Security Clearance

Preferred Qualifications:
•    Active SECRET security clearance
•    Test and measurement experience with Microwave (26GHz) and Millimeter wave (45GHz) RF circuits.
•    Knowledge of automated test equipment design and architecture for low volume production lines. 
•    Ability to work and thrive in high paced production environments. 
•    Effective oral and written communicator. 
•    Working knowledge of microprocessor based designs and how to troubleshoot. 
•    Working knowledge of Xilinx/Altera FPGA based designs for Software Defined Radios. 
•    Ability to read and understand schematic, netlist, and gerber data. 
•    High-level knowledge of sample-data systems and signal processing for voice communications. 
•    Experience working with TestStand and LabView based ATE. 
•    Experienced giving PowerPoint presentations. 
•    Ability to work with part vendors on root cause and corrective action for failing products. 
•    Ability to coordinate and work on a large number of tasks simultaneously. 
•    Highly motivated and quick learning individual. 
•    Must be able to work well with others. 
•    Ability to work flex and overtime hours


Salary Range: $92,200 USD - $138,400 USD
Salary Range 2: $114,300 USD - $171,500 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
