Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Manager Systems Engineering to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in San Diego, CA.

   

The selected candidate will work closely with the Global Hawk Program Team across the Enterprise in various engineering functions to ensure the overall system meets all performance requirements and manage the Technical Baseline across Global Hawk programs.

Essential Functions:

  • Ensure successful definition, implementation, control and validation of internal and external system interfaces for the Global Hawk Enterprise.
  • Lead a multidisciplinary team to develop test requirements, develop procedures, and execute integration activities to demonstrate designed capabilities have been met.
  • Define and maintain standard Integration processes and metrics across the Global Hawk Enterprise, driving early fault identification and resolution.
  • Define and roadmap Integrated Functional Capability (IFC) efforts across the Global Hawk Enterprise, driving reuse and commonality while ensuring appropriate configuration identification and management.
  • Work with Global Hawk SE&I Lead to develop and implement long term strategies for improving interface definition and control.
  • Utilize Agile methodologies which will enable rapid capability insertion and reduce time to field Implement tools, technologies, and procedure to enable more efficient integration. 
  • Manage and lead IFC, Integration, and Thread Lead teams for the Global Hawk Enterprise.  
  • Monitor and advise the creation and modification of software to meet IFC objectives.
  • Provide guidance and required documentation to maintain a current compatibility baseline.
  • Ensure consistent vertical and horizontal integration across the Global Hawk Enterprise teams with respect to managing software and hardware compatibility and changes.
  • Presentation skills to effectively provide status to internal executive management and customers.

Basic Qualifications:

  • BS degree in engineering or science and 9 years of related experience or 7 years with a Masters or 5 years with PhD.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead integration and test of complex systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead IFC processes and procedures.
  • Experience utilizing Earned Value Management System. 
  • Active DoD Secret Clearance.
  • Experience leading a team of 10+ individuals in a technical environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MS degree in a STEM Field
  • Aerospace flight and ground software development and I&T experience
  • Previous experience as IFC Lead
  • Previous experience as Integration or Test Lead
  • Experience in Agile Development
  • Experience in Autonomous Systems Programs
  • Experience working on US Air Force Programs
  • Active TS/SCI.

Salary Range: $171,000 USD - $256,400 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
