Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking a technical, mission oriented individual who is highly qualified to provide technical leadership on the Communications team. 

The Communications Manager will provide leadership on a team which designs, develops, integrates and delivers communication systems.  The Communications Manager will have authority over Cost, Schedule, and Technical Execution for specific portfolios.

The Communications Manager will also lead a Section of approximately 8-15 communication engineers for 20% Functional Responsibilities including:

  • Partner with technical and functional management to develop an approach that satisfies the staffing needs between programs

  • Build an engineering culture that empowers employees, establishes personal and team accountability, motivates team performance, encourages development, and supports innovation

  • Timecard approval, employee performance evaluations, facilitating employee growth, and special assignments in support of the functional homeroom

  • Provide ongoing coaching and performance feedback to direct reports

Basic Qualifications:

  • Active DoD Secret Clearance

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university and 9 years of experience or Master’s Degree with 7 years of experience.

  • Understanding of CDL, UHF LOS, UHF SATCOM, tactical voice, Link 16, etc.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active Top Secret Clearance within 4 years of last investigation / adjudication

  • Ability to receive and maintain Special Program Access

  • Experience as a subcontracts/supplier lead, EVMS and Cost Account Management

  • Experience Leading Large Teams through integration to meet program milestones

  • Knowledgeable of end to end communications architectures

  • Understand IP networking topologies, quality of service implementation, network encryption methods.

  • Understanding of environmental qualification requirements

Salary Range: $143,500 USD - $215,300 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
