We are looking for you to join our team as a Principal Digital Verification Engineer based out of San Diego, Ca. As a Digital Engineer at Northrop Grumman you will have a challenging and rewarding opportunity to be a part of our Enterprise-wide digital transformation. At the Northrop Grumman San Diego campus our Advanced Digital Design organization creates the next generation of communications and signal processing systems, and will take ideas from concept to working systems aboard the world’s most advanced platforms right here in always-sunny San Diego. We design in our campus of labs and on-site advanced manufacturing just minutes from the beach and everything for which southern California is famous. It’s work that matters and a career that can takes you places. We seek degreed electrical or computer engineering engineers with hands-on experience in FPGA Verification with VHDL.

Job Description:

  • Scope of responsibility includes simulation and verification of FPGA/CPLD designs for wireless systems
  • Candidate is required to have knowledge of modern digital design and verification concepts
  • Opportunity for technical growth and leadership working with wireless products

This position will require onsite work however for this role we are able to offer flexible work arrangements and some remote work will be possible.

This is a dual level requisition which can be filled as a Principal Digital Engineer or Sr. Principal Digital Engineer.

Basic Qualifications Principal Digital Engineer:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or other STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline
  • 5+ years of digital verification engineering experience using industry standard simulation tools (3+ years with an MS degree)
  • Experience in VHDL design and verification for wireless systems
  • FPGA development process experience (requirements definition, conceptual design, detailed design, verification, and production release)
  • Experience working with verification plans, test benches, bus functional models, and RTL debugging
  • Must be a US Citizen with an ability to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or other STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline
  • 9+ years of digital verification engineering experience using industry standard simulation tools (7+ years with an MS degree)
  • Experience in VHDL design and verification for wireless systems
  • FPGA development process experience (requirements definition, conceptual design, detailed design, verification, and production release)
  • Experience working with verification plans, test benches, bus functional models, and RTL debugging
  • Must be a US Citizen with an ability to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active Security Clearance
  • Experience with scripting languages for Verification automation (Perl, TCL, Bash, and Makefile)
  • Knowledge of Computer Architectures and Digital design (Memories, bus standards, industry standard bus interfaces)
  • Experience with functional verification methodology

Salary Range: $116,000 USD - $167,400 USD
Salary Range 2: $138,300 USD - $207,500 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
