This is an exciting opportunity to manage the Strike software team.

The successful candidate is responsible for overseeing software deliverables across entire software development life cycle (proposal, requirements through test & delivery/sustainment) for a 30+ person team.  This includes managing software in an agile environment with the ability to incorporate Agile methodologies to improve quality & performance.

The successful candidate has the ability to understand software technical details to make objective decisions & communicate them to non-software engineers. This includes but not limited briefing program leadership on estimates, program plans as briefing Chief Engineers on root cause corrective actions and summarizing technical issues.


  • Bachelor's degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) and 9 years of relative experience or Master's and 7 years of relative experience
  • Prior software leadership experience, leading a software development team and/or software test team
  • Managing a group of 10 software engineers or more.
  • Experience with one of the following Agile Methodologies: SCRUM, KANBAN, Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing, Test Automation
  • Experience with performing one of the following roles in an agile team: Product Owner, SCRUM Master
  • Experience with managing a software platform that uses C and/or C++


  • Current Top Secret Clearance
  • Experience with managing software that runs on a real-time operating system (RTOS)
  • Prior experience managing cost & schedule
  • Experiencing managing personnel items, including but not limited to: Performance review(s), performance improvement plan(s), conflict resolution, promotions, equity adjustments
  • Master’s Degree

Salary Range: $171,000 USD - $256,400 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
