The Sentinel Command & Launch (C&L) Systems Engineering & Integration team is seeking a Systems Engineer to perform as a Command and Launch (C&L) Requirements Engineer supporting requirements management activities. This position will be located in San Diego, CA and will support the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (Sentinel) program Command and Launch (CLT) Systems Engineering and Integration (SE&I) team.

Successful candidates will participate in requirements development and maintenance activities. The selected engineer will be experienced working in requirements repositories and model based system engineering. The selected engineer will work with the product teams responsible to develop hardware and software specifications, participate in technical reviews and provide customer support as required."

 

What You Will Get To Do:

  • Provide technical solutions to a wide range of complex difficult problems. Solutions are imaginative, thorough, practicable, and consistent with organization objectives.

  • Work under general direction. Independently determines and develops approach to solutions. Work is reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives.

  • Contribute to the completion of specific programs and projects. Failure to obtain results or erroneous decisions or recommendations would typically result in serious program delays and considerable expenditure of resources.

  • Generate and flow down requirements from higher level specifications ensuring applicability to the system. Assisting lower level specifications with their allocations ensuring no widowed or orphaned requirements exist. Gather team concurrence before boarding the documents.

Basic Qualifications Requirements Systems Engineer:

  • 2 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor of Science in STEM field; or 0 years of experience with a Master's Degree

  • Active DoD Secret security clearance

  • Ability to derive requirements from high level requirements

 

Basic Qualifications Principal Requirements Systems Engineer:

  • 5 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor of Science in STEM field; or 3 years of relevant experience with a Masters

  • Active DoD Secret security clearance

  • Ability to derive requirements from high level requirements

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in Aerospace, Mechanical, Software, Computer, and/or System Engineering

  • Systems experience in requirements generation and management in DOORS

  • Experience with C2, Physical Security, Cybersecurity, and/or Communications systems

  • Experience developing OPSCONS or CONOPS

  • Experience in the military aerospace development environment is preferred

  • Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), including DODAF, SysML, and Cameo Enterprise Architect

  • Experience with Agile Development

  • Ability and willingness to travel

  • Active DoD Top Secret clearance

  • Ability to obtain DoD Special Program Access (SAP)


Salary Range: $82,400 USD - $123,600 USD
Salary Range 2: $101,400 USD - $152,200 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
