Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Triton System Center Senior Lab Manager to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Test and Evaluation organization.

This leadership role is located in San Diego, CA.

The Senior Manager is responsible for managing the design, development, and implementation of new lab capabilities, in addition to the planning, operations and maintenance of Triton Labs.  This will include leading a team of Test Directors, System Test Engineers, Design Engineers, System Administrators, and Technicians.  The position requires technical knowledge of various systems, design, development, implementation, and testing with a strong foundation in laboratory integration and test.  The selected candidate must act with speed, guide others in producing quality work, be self-motivated, and have the ability to communicate complex technical issues and solutions.  A successful track record of program performance, interpersonal team building skills, and management experience is required.


Key Responsibilities:
•    Work with Test IPT, program Integration Leads, and the System Test Engineering Manager to schedule lab assets and manage priorities as required in a dynamic hardware-in-the-loop test environment
•    Coordinating with support homerooms and providing timely resource forecasts to ensure proper staffing is in place to execute the Statement of Work
•    Managing cost, schedule, and technical performance of lab projects (e.g., capital and contractual material budgets) as well as providing inputs to yearly capital plans and long-range strategic planning
•    Driving process rigor, ensure compliance to meet company, program, and security requirements
•    Driving technical and process rigor for lab configuration
•    Tracking leading indicator technical metrics to detect and prevent issues
•    Ensure lab assets meet test requirements for formal testing, including the development, approval, and maintenance of test configurations
•    Continually coordinate lab status, issues, and solutions with the IPT and management of several programs
•    Continually seek to improve lab integration & test engineering rigor and efficiency, implementing new technologies such as automation
•    Ensure Change Requests and Engineering Change Proposals ECP are properly reviewed for cost, schedule, and resource impacts, and coordinate implementation
•    Support proposal activities

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must have a Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM discipline and 14 years of related professional / military experience, or a master’s degree and 12 years of related professional / military experience.

  • Must have prior management / leadership experience that includes oversight of engineering projects or program activities

  • Must have an active DoD Secret (or higher) clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active Top Secret clearance

  • Experience with the Triton UAS platform

  • Experience working in an autonomous system laboratory environment

  • Prior functional homeroom management experience

Salary Range: $155,400 USD - $233,200 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
