Northrop Grumman’s Aeronautics Systems sector is currently hiring a Project Management professional to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in San Diego, California. This is an individual contributor role and is not a management/leadership opportunity.

Job Description:

This position is for the role of a Program Integrator. The selected candidate will be part of a diverse organization of project integrators within the Program Operations Homeroom. The candidate is responsible to oversee and manage the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serve as the liaison between program management and integrated product teams. This individual contributor will work side by side with the Program Manager on all program reporting and executive level presentations.

Oversees and manages the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serves as liaison between project management and planning, project team, and line management. Reviews status of projects and budgets; manages schedules and prepares status reports. Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives. Develops mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, line managers, and clients.

Responsibilities for this position include (but are not limited to): Knowledge of project management and program integration and associated PM tools. General understanding of IMF and 5.0 PM processes and procedures. Adherence to existing NG processes and demonstrates ability to understand processes and apply them.  Demonstrates ability to perform projects with moderate supervision.  Organized, engaged and is able to work within a team. PM Readiness Assessment Score None or Beginner (1 or 2).

  • Ability to grasp problems and assist with developing solutions – have the understanding to ask the right questions
  • Understands prioritization and is able to plan work accordingly – work is reviewed for overall accuracy

  • Ability to work with internal personnel as a team and take direction from senior team members. Assist with presentations and is capable of making presentations to a small group

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors’ degree with 3+ years OR a Master’s degree with 1+ year experience within the business environment with preference in project management and/or program integration
  • Skillful with Microsoft Office tool suite; the ability to create, manage, and manipulate the tools, especially PowerPoint, Word, and Excel
  • Understanding of the Integrated Management Framework (IMF)
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with interfacing with all levels of employees and Leadership
  • Proven success managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • 3 Years with Bachelors, 1 Year with Masters
  • 3-5 years’ experience – general business environment with preference in project management, program integration
  • Knowledge of Project Management principles and experience utilizing them professionally
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office tool suite
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification or similar
  • Strong written and verbal communication, including presentation skills to senior leadership
  • Aerospace and/or Defense Industry Experience
  • SharePoint experience
  • Active secret or Top Secret clearance (last investigation completed within last 6 years)
  • Ability to attain and maintain program access (PAR)

Salary Range: $68,100 USD - $102,100 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
