Northrop Grumman is seeking a Project Manager for our Operations organization. This position will be located at our Mission Systems Sector in San Diego, California. This position can be performed as a part-time virtual telecommuter. You will leading various high-visibility, high-impact projects supporting Manufacturing, Global Supply Chain and Quality & Mission Excellence. We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual, with an eagerness to learn, and a passion for managing concurrent and effective projects. The selected candidate should have a willingness to explore new project management techniques (e.g., Lean Agile) and develop them in a team environment.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Partner with Operations team to lead San Diego's World Class Manufacturing (WCM) transformation.

  • Lead Operations Data Analytics/Business Operations visibility, reporting and tracking.

  • Collaborate with Manufacturing, Global Supply Chain and Quality & Mission Excellence to drive Operations performance improvements and Return to Green (RTG) plans.

  • ​Manage Operations Process Improvement Card (iCard) disposition, implementation and closure.

  • Facilitate iBuy program for purchase of various production materials and supplies.

  • Oversee and manage the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serve as liaison between project management and planning, project team, and production line management.

  • Assess project issues and develop resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and customer-satisfaction goals and objectives.

  • Develop tools/mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with functional managers, production line managers, and division/sector leadership.

This requisition may be filled as a Level 3 or Level 4 with the qualification below.

Basic Qualifications for the Level 3 (Principal Project Management): 

  • Bachelor's degree or higher and 6 years of relevant experience (4 years with Master’s degree) 

  • Must be able to obtain a U.S. government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite) 

  • Must be proficient in MS Office suite – Excel, SharePoint, Teams, Outlook, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Visio 

 

Basic Qualifications for the Level 4 (Senior Principal Project Management): 

  • Bachelor's degree or higher and 10 years of relevant experience (8 years with Master’s degree) 

  • Must be able to obtain a U.S. government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite) 

  • Must be proficient in MS Office suite – Excel, SharePoint, Teams, Outlook, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Visio 

Preferred Qualifications for Both Levels:

  • Experience in or knowledge of a manufacturing environment

  • Experience with AGILE project management software (e.g., Atlassian Jira/Confluence/Bitbucket, Microsoft Azure DevOps).

  • Experience in Continuous Improvement techniques (e.g., Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma)

  • Project Management certification


Salary Range: $83,800 USD - $125,800 USD
Salary Range 2: $103,900 USD - $155,900 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
