Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening in the Configuration Data Management (CDM) Organization within the Systems Engineering Directorate for the Autonomous Design Center of Excellence. This position supports a classified program. The individual selected for this position will be located in San Diego, CA or in Palmdale, Ca. This person will be responsible for supporting all tenets of the CDM process to support all IPTs (Integrated Program Teams) across the program. This position will focus heavily on Document Control and Data Management. The Configuration Analyst will be responsible for managing, monitoring, and maintaining the processes for all engineering documents going through the Document Control and Release process.

Candidate must demonstrate knowledge of change management and CDM principles and shall be proficient in the use of the company standard configuration management tool(s), such as Teamcenter Enterprise and Change Tracker maintaining configuration changes to the baseline. Reviews and analyzes released engineering change data and coordinates changes with engineering, quality, support, manufacturing, and engineering data control activities. and coordinates preparation of project documentation, such as engineering drawings, production specifications and schedules, and contract modifications, to ensure customer contract requirements are met. Reviews contract to determine documentation required for each phase of project, applying knowledge of engineering and manufacturing processes. Coordinates modification records for management control.

PAR Contingency Notice: To actively start day-to-day tasking, PAR is required prior to start.

Essential Functions:

•            Plans and coordinates preparation of project documentation, such as engineering drawings, production specifications and schedules, and contract modifications, to ensure customer contract requirements are met.

•            Reviews contract to determine documentation required for each phase of project, applying knowledge of engineering and manufacturing processes.

•            Analyzes proposed changes of product design to determine effect on overall product and system.

•            Coordinates modification records for management control. Establishes change orders and prepares for change authorization and documentation by company and subcontractor.

•            Reviews and analyzes released engineering change data and coordinates changes with engineering, quality, support, manufacturing, and engineering data control activities.

•            Train all new users and provide regular training to the different IPTs processing document changes.  Ensure all documents are updated in accordance with Sector and Program procedures and maintained current (within 3 years or less).

•            Able to audit processes, procedures, engineering documents, and communicate effectively and clearly with document originators. Requires meticulous attention to detail while maintaining control over all documents in flow

Basic Qualifications:

•            Bachelor’s Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 10+ years of configuration experience OR

•            Master’s Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 8+ years of configuration experience OR

•            14+ years of experience as a Configuration Data Management Analyst or experience in Financial Accounting and System Acquisition in a DoD environment (in lieu of degree)

•            Must be able to obtain secret clearance and special program clearance prior to start.

•            Knowledge of software / hardware configuration, data and change management principles and proficiency in the use of configuration management tools

•            Experience with software Configuration Management tools and software management to include baseline management and auditing

•            Self-motivated and able to effectively work with all levels of the organization

Preferred Qualifications:

•            Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to interface with all levels of employees and management

•            Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics from an accredited university and 10+ years of Configuration Data Management experience.

•            Previous experience in an Aerospace or DoD environment

•            Top Secret Clearance & Program PAR

•            Experience leading a CM team for program with multiple task orders/CLINs

•            Proficient knowledge and use of MS Office applications.

•            Direct CDM Domain Experience

•            Experience with Configuration Status Accounting + Configuration Verification Audits

•            Knowledge of NGAS Company, and CDM Industry Standards, including ASME Y14, MIL-HDBK-61, SAE GEIA-859  and SAE EIA-649.

•            Familiar with NGC CDM Engineering and Production tools, similar to TeamCenter, SharePoint, and/or SAP/MES


Salary Range: $103,900 USD - $155,900 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
