Our employees are not only part of history, they’re making history. The Space Components Division is seeking a Document Control Clerk to join our team.  This position is located in San Diego, CA. As a Document Control Clerk, you will provide a variety of basic clerical support to configuration management operations. Assists in documenting and tracking routine aspects of hardware and/or software development and modification. Makes changes to established master files of contractually required technical data. Assists in performing configuration management, data management or a combination. Maintains databases, assist in using basic engineering design drawings, parts lists, code or other items to create and document baselines; verifies authorization for and incorporates all changes or additions to them. Responsible for logging, filing and tracking all necessary drawings, documents, lists and various other items. Generates variety of standard reports. Tracks location of hardware/software in order to incorporate future changes and additions. JOB Responsibilities
  • Maintain CM database, Test Lab Database, MRP or PLM system by entering new and updated customer and documentation information in the support program needs.
  • Scanning and filing work orders; ensuring all scanned work orders are readable based on quality of source document
  • Issuing and distributing engineering documentation in the support of shop floor
  • Discarding or archiving hardcopy of work orders, and tested material, as directed or once the project is completed
  • Managing and archiving EIDPs
  • Extracting engineering documentation from CM database or PLM system in the support of RFQs
  • Routinely auditing work to ensure accuracy
  • Must be able to work in a team environment, including program managers, shop floor, engineers and analysis teams. 
  • Able to lift 40 to 50 lbs in the support hardcopy work orders archiving as required

  • Maintain electronic and hardcopy files, including the ability to interpret and apply records policy and filing techniques
  • Interact professionally with all organizational levels
  • Manage competing priorities in a fast paced environment
  • Work in a team environment, including immediate supervisor and other team members in the group
  • Problem solving, critical thinking and investigative skills
  • Complete special projects as assigned
  • Distribute drawings and specifications to the shop floor
  • Retrieve obsolete CM material from the shop floor
Preferred qualifications
  • Accurate data entry skills
  • Proficient in MS Office and Access Database
  • Knowledge of Configuration Management principles
  • Understanding of basic drawing reading

  • ITAR Requirements: To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, applicant must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
