Associate Engineer – Quality

Northrop Grumman Aeronautic System's subsidiary, Sonoma Photonics, Inc. has an opening for an Associate Engineer - Quality to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Santa Rosa, CA.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Develops, modifies, applies and maintains quality evaluation and control systems and protocols from receiving of raw, uncoated materials into deliverable materials product.

• Collaborates with engineering and manufacturing functions to ensure quality standards are in place and seeks continuous improvement projects/practices.

• Devises and implements methods and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and metrology equipment.

• Designs and analyzes inspection and testing processes, mechanisms and equipment; conducts quality assurance tests; and performs analysis to assess the product performance, evaluates products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications.

• Audits quality systems for deficiency identification and correction.

• Ensures that corrective measures meet acceptable reliability

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) related discipline

• 0-2 Years of relevant experience (0 years with related Masters Degree)

• Experience with statistical methods and analysis in Excel and other tools

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively and document results and analysis in an effective manner

• Ability to acquire and hold a DoD Secret Clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

• May specialize in the areas of design, incoming material, production control, product evaluation and reliability, inventory control and/or research and development as they apply to product or process quality.

• May be certified in lean and six-sigma quality engineering methodologies.

• Ability to write programs for automation of tasks

Salary Range: $61,900 USD - $92,900 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
